Hello all,
I know it's early to be writing this seeing how the game has only been out a few days. But after playing this one and all the other Far Cry games, I think the developers needs to step back in time for the next one. Ever since I played the first one I thought they should make one set during the vietnam war. I don't think it would be hard for them to pull it off. I thought it could start out your chopper was shot down deep in jungle and enemy territory. Seeing how your the only one left with no help, you are gonna have to survive and use the jungle for your advantage like the Viet Cong did. It would be perfect, could even integrate co op gameplay like the latest one and maybe more playable vehicles like Huey choppers etc. Just food for thought and Ubisoft if you want to use it be my guess I won't pitch a fit and ask for money, I just want a Far Cry Vietnam game.
No, that will not work out as a Far Cry title.
First off, Far Cry is never a military shooter, and I believe it will never be one. A military background is fine, but the idea of being a soldier currently active duty will turn Far Cry into a military shooter. I have mentioned this in another topic.
Secondly, the storyline and places are completely fictional in the Far Cry universe. They are based off of real life places, but the franchise is completely fictional.
And lastly, the Americans have lost the Vietnam war/Second Indochina war. You're not going to be John Rambo that somehow liberates all outposts in the country, and then somehow is the only person fighting for his country, the United States, to fight communism and suddenly to win the war in some alternate universe. Liberating outposts, climbing towers, and skinning animals is now a staple in the Far Cry franchise since Far Cry 3.
However, the theme is fine. Fighting enemies in the jungles of a fictional version of Vietnam is fine. If we have someone like Robin Williams from Good Morning, Vietnam to be the next Rabi Ray Rana from Far Cry 4 as a radio DJ, that would be awesome!
Even if the idea doesn't suit a FC series it was an interesting idea. Kinda reminded me of MGS snake eater
Yeah I think Longinus gave a good hint on were the location might be. Cuba/South America will make a good setting for a far cry title, but im still hoping for a return to the Unnamed African Country. The drab colours appealed to me more, looked more believable and less "cartoonish" but still amazing, but i know it's not for everyone...
just had a thought, south america=Piranhas!
and keep the demon fish, loved it!
And I like the direction they took with reducing the importance of the protagonist, but i didn't like the whole son a famous revolutionary and everyone knows your name stuff. Lets get back to a relatively irrelevant character with a past that can back up his quick learnt skills, like the choices of FC2 (ex mil, merc, arms dealer, they don't need to be saints, after all the most interesting characters in far cry are the villains!)
Ajay Ghale's background actually told good storytelling for the good endings. The first protagonist in Far Cry Instincts and Far Cry 1 is former military, by the way.Originally Posted by gngrbrdman007 Go to original post

Next Far Cry should be.........
Colorful.....with spectacular awesome landscape. I agree with Enchanteur33....south America should be Far Cry 5 destination but a mix of Brezil and Colombia.......
I don't like Himalaya...it's too grey...and fogy.....I don't feel like exploring the map like I did in Far Cry 3 which was a real beautiful paradise to explore...!

For FC5, the location should be..........................
Picture yourself fighting eagles and more eagles in "Legion of the Eagles Nest". There's nothing better than getting attacked by ruthless eagles every five seconds. It will take the FC series to a place it's never been before and will provide hours of fun gameplay. Can you defeat thousands of eagles and become a Legion? FC5: Legion of the Eagles Nest coming in 2015! Below is some actual gameplay from the upcoming game.
I think this could work on so many levels. Just because of the military subject matter doesn't back it into the corner of being a "military shooter". You are in the middle of a civil war in Far Cry 4, but it doesn't lock the game into a "military shooter" just a shooter... Also just because the character can go around liberating outposts and rescuing POWs doesn't mean they'll win the war. Having the dark overtone of an "un-winnable war" might actually be deep to a story. But just because you don't like the idea doesn't mean it couldn't work.Originally Posted by KrAzY1337 Go to original post
