Loading issues + various bugs PC

I got FC4 yesterday, downloaded it overnight and have been trying to play it all morning. Currently i have yet to make it past the torture viewing room in the very first opening mission, although even getting there is very difficult and rare.

The bugs i'm running into are: (in order of how often they occur)

Every loading screen when starting the game turns to black and does not progress unless I alt-tab out and then return

Similarly when in the game loading screens load all the way then sit there until i alt-tab away and then return (they also take at least 5-10 minutes each time to fully load)

Often after a while the loading screen that appears after i press 'new game - offline' will result in an error message saying the game can't connect to the game session

If I make it into the game (as in the opening mission when starting a new game) one of the following things will happen:

There is no sound besides the game soundtrack

There is no HUD, nor does it show when you pick up cash/ammo or the messages found whilst wondering around

The mission will not progress, either the door into the torture room won't open or once in the torture room nothing happens and all i can do is quit the game

If anyone know how to go about solving any of these it would be greatly appreciated

If you're using a controller then unplug it and wait a couple seconds then plug it back in, sounds weird but I have to do it on doors, kharma events, scripted events, animal lures etc etc etc....hell even textures not loading are down to controller for me.

I have to alt tab out and in again, to get ai to spawn, videos to load, to load out of cut scenes. Ive seen two reasons, 1 we're all using AMD processors and 2 we have have some kind of usb device plugged in.

Very interesting, thanks for the response all! I'll try doing that next time I play.
