    Right-hand traffic in Kyrat

Doesn't it seem strange that Kyrat, a region in the Hymalayas is having right-hand traffic?

Was this an oversight by the developers or were they worried that many players would have a difficult time adjusting to the regional driving regulations and made this a deliberate design decision?

Personally, I think this could pull you out of the immersion if you think about it every time you get into a vehicle and see that and the wheel is on the left-hand side knowing that something like that is impossible in this particular region.

What do you think? Did you notice this flaw in detail during your playtime?

Totally with you on this one

Not a game breaker - but it definitely lowered the immersion somewhat - India, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal are all left-hand drive nations

I'm guessing it wasn't an oversight, more of a development choice given FC3 was all RHD and it would likely have taken time to modify this

On that note FC3 should probably have been left-hand drive, given Thailand (where they skydived from) is a left-hand drive country as is Malaysia and PNG (where the actual rook island exists)

    +1

I am walking everywhere like a mad dog. I rarely use vehicles in this awesome environment.

Yeah that has to have been a deliberate choice, based simply on where the majority of their sales would be...check the map on this site here.

It's simply market forces at play...choose the side that most of your market are used to, to minimise the complaints!!

The only Far Cry that ever got the correct drive side of the road for it's region was the first, which was developed by CryTek and took place in Micronesia, which has right side driving, and left side steering, just like the game.

Far Cry 2 being in Africa, probably in or near South Africa given the Afrikaans dialect, should be left side of road, right side steering, but it's not.

Far Cry 3 being on an island near Thailand should also be left side road, right side steering, but it's not.

I honestly never knew if any of the Far Crys had different config for each country it releases in, just for player familiarity, but it does kinda seem like Ubi are catering to Canada, France, and USA, all of which are familiar to most of their developers and right side road, left side steering wheel.

The right or left side thing doesn't bother me a whole lot, and not just because I'm used to right side driving in real life. I was able to get the hang of Sleeping Dog's left side driving in Hong Kong fine.

What DOES bother me is how crazy the local Kyratis drive. They will often run over and kill a Sherpa before you can trade with them. It's bad enough they've reduced them to mere traveling salesmen most of the time in this game.

If I were a Sherpa I'd be embarrassed by this game.

The first time I entered a vehicle in FC4, I entered the wrong side. I thought the traffic was left sided so I entered from the right side without giving it a second thought.

It is next to China so what do you think? BTW There are no rules for driving in a game like this as far as I see. Just drive wherever you want and no one will give a **** about you except the royal army. In fact they'd try to ruin your day no matter what you do so yeah.

Bit of an excuse to say they are catering to the countries where the majority of sales occur. If you can learn to fly a gyro-copter or hang glider then you can learn to drive on the left side of the road. I've lost count of the number of head on collisions I've had playing this game.
