PC: Game won't progress on Return to Sender quest / checkpoints.

    Hi all,

I can't find anyone else that seems to be having this problem and therefore nor any solution for it.

    Problem

Patched to latest PC 1.4.0 release and I am still unable to progress the 'Return to sender' mission, once I get to the golden path base I hear the screaming, see the fire but there are no npcs or enemies and a glitched helicopter flies in and does nothing thereafter. Previously it would spawn one or two or semi-update if I forced it to save (via changing a setting back and forth etc) but now it's not even checkpointing. This has happened to my game throughout to some degree but I used to be able to force it to a point until the Return to Sender quest which just isn't budging.

I've tried everything including reinstall, set as admin, compatibility modes, verify files, new game, deleting profile files, deleting save files, changed install directory, reinstalled uplay, installed in same directory, option changing etc etc etc, played about 4hrs of a game I purchased on day one and these patches aren't helping me any at all (I managed to get the stuttering crap fixed thanks to other people).

Thanks in advance to anyone that might know what's going on here and be able to help as uplay's support system seems may be run by a cats or honey badgers therefore getting a typed response may be unlikely to impossible before the GOTY edition is released.

    System spec:
GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB (with all latest updates), 8GB Ram, AMD FX 4100 Quad-Core 3.6 GHz, Windows 7 (64Bit with all latest updates) @ 1920x1080p (2 displays, 2nd is 1280x1024) using an xbox controller.

    Notes:
My 'My Documents' is not on C drive (C drive only has 6GB+ so I had to move it to another drive a long while ago without issue) but the uplay launcher and games are in the same folder.

Had some replies and updates from support but I've found what the problem is (which it turns out is the same for many other issues only different).

The problem does not occur when the xbox controller is not connected so it's the controller thing again (I think that's what was causing black screen / stopping for other folk).

Waiting for an update from support on the new (old) finding but any ideas is welcome (apart from play with kb+m ). Cheers!
