OK, so I read through that 1.4.0 fixed some key binding issues, stuff that I have not done yet because I was waiting for fixes and new Nvidia Drivers for the SLI issues.
Anyhow, Since I saw that some have has fixes to key mappings with 1.4.0, I decided to see if that was the reason the hang glider never goes up, just down. No fix with this patch.
Neither wasd nor my custom 8456 keypad will work.
When you get on a glider, it says use: WASD (or whatever custom keys) BUT it never works for the "pitch" up key. Nothing I do will allow me to pitch the hang glider upwards. I can't go up, nor can I pitch up just before landing.
I checked FC3 and works perfect. FC3 you could pitch up unless you bled off to much speed of course, which was corrected by pitching down to gain speed and then being able to pitch up until you bleed off speed and slow down You never can go up no matter what. Game is messed up in more ways than this issue.
Is anyone else having this issue with hang gliding. I have not played enough to see if this is related to some bigger issue still going on.
I have this game on the back burner anyhow since I await the updated Nvidia drivers that will fix SLI shadow issues still being worked on between Ubi/Nvidia.
I assume the wingsuit controls in fc4 will also be messed up then.Originally Posted by OxIdOAC Go to original post
So, Like I said, I've been waiting for the next Nvidia drivers since 344.75 were an utter failure with regards to SLI black foreground issue and general performance. I figured when everything is ironed out I'll be able to play FC4 with my 780's in all it's glory hopefully giving me the same feeling I loved with FC3.
However, now, as I see many more major issues like the inability to have proper key functions is disconcerting.
I think I'll go go reset the bases and play some FC3...
This really does need fixing!
Mind you, this problem is exactly the same as the problem Uisoft had with the hang glider in Far Cry 2 - which took 2 or 3 patches before it was fixed.
I assume the wingsuit controls in fc4 will also be messed up then.
I don't know if it is or not, but I don't get much of a chance to try it as I'm only ever using it for short flights where losing altitude is what I need to do, not trying to glide for a long time. I did attempt to do something similar to to what was shown in a video from Ubisoft prior to the release of FC4. That went quite well, but I was only interested in dodging the obstacles for that bit of fun.![]()
