Maybe we have some fans of TDU who don't know that this gave is alive again.
I think it's abvious that racing game should have good physics, right? It's the most important thing. TDU 2 didn't have and that's why people didn't enjoy this game. After beta tests I can say that the crew has better physics than tdu 2 but not as good as tdu 1. New features and many options in the crew won't encourage me to buy this game. It's all about physics.
Let me write down that opinion of yours for future reference.Originally Posted by Okar19 Go to original post
Well let's be honest here.... the physics of TDU1 weren't that solid either and some of the cars were driving all over the place except for where you wanted them to go. In TDU2 the problem got worse, that is true, but a lot of people make the TDU1 physics appear way better then they are. TDU2 has a small selection of cars that drove very well (the Spyker, the Audi's and some of the Merc's and Lotus weren't too bad either) and they made the game very enjoyable. I still got TDU2 and have fun with it at times, it's the only game ever I started over 3 times, after finishing it. Most other driving games I sell once I'm done with them, they don't offer replay value, but TDU2 does.
Anyway, cool to see the servers back for TDU1.... to bad I only have the psp and Xbox 360 version, I don't think those connect to this server.
I would never have recommended purchasing the digital version of TDU1 PC even when it was available, DigitalRiver had horrible DRM and you were limited in the number of key activations before having to phone customer support, becoming stuck in a loop between Atari and the store.
TDU1 was a fun game, obviously not a sim but hardcore mode had realistic elements to it and offered a good challenge. It proved to be a good springboard for me to leap from arcade racing games (NFS) into racing sims (GTR2 and Race 07 back then). Had hundreds of hours of fun playing that online with forum buddies so it's good being able to relive some of that. Hoping The Crew takes it to the next level.
