Ok I tried it and got it to work. I only did one additional step.Originally Posted by Theotian Go to original post
First: I moved the GamerProfile file to desktop just like Theotian recommended. I have multiple monitors so left folder open so I could watch it. (I did see it recreate after in game for a few seconds)
Second: I changed the properties of the Farcry folder and removed the "read only" rights and for all sub folders.
[Edit, this only worked for one death and then started black screening again :-( ]

What exactly do you mean by nvidia app?Originally Posted by mountrix Go to original post
I use Nvidia GeForce Experience the problems started for me when I installed the latest drivers (GeForce gtx970 9.18.13.4725) and the GeForce Experience Version 2.2.2.0 I'm not sure if this caused the conflict with Uplay ( not being able to save and Sync with the cloud my game ) but when I started the game with GFExp disabled I finally could save my progress againOriginally Posted by akunamatataa Go to original post
I figured out how to fix it.
1.) Manually save the game by pressing Esc and clicking save. This will freeze the game.
2.) Find someway to get out of the game and close it.
3.) navigate to your "savedgames" folder for far cry 4 and you will see #.save, #.save.tmp
4.) delete the save file with the same number as the .tmp file and rename the .tmp file to #.save
HOPE THIS HELPED THIS WORKS EVERYTIME ON MINE.
