I wanted to get into this discussion to find out where everyone is on this latest patch.

So here is where I am at:
    i5-4460, 8 gigs ram, GTX 970.

I definitely felt the stuttering when I first got the game, after using the gamer profile edit tricks it made it bearable and then a patch or two later it was even better. One of the latest patches made it the best its ever been, I don't get stuttering or even the occasional read hiccup (is that hitching?), but I've noticed two things: When I first got the game I seem to remember you could see trees for miles in the same texture and poly count you would up close....maybe I'm wrong but I defintitely notice poly counts and textures changing based con distance now, it's almost annoying but I try not to let it bother me especially if this is the reason the performance has increased. I've also noticed a slight frame rate drag, i guess is the best I could say.

My settings currently are everything on ultra, no motion blur, HBOA+ MSAA4 & Enhanced God Rays.

I haven't turned on rivatuner lately to check up on my frame rates because not seeing the actual number makes me less aware of low frame rates.

However with those settings I feel like I am probably getting 30. You don't notice it when you are moving forward but when you strafe side to side you notice plants skipping across your field of view or if you're rounding a building quickly you'll notice it. To me it's not stuttering, it's a consistent thing and barely noticeable but it is there. I've tried bumping down settings to SSBC and turning god rays off, it doesnt seem to improve the situation. I've left the MSAA4 alone because I really like that setting over all the others, good mix of sharp textures and acceptable performance for my machine. The TS settings do some weird wavy thing whenever I run and stop real quick so I don't like it.

TLDR I feel the game is alot better, it does crash after long sessions which I guess is the memory leak. I don't get stuttering and hitching like I used to and have reverted my disablemipload and frame preload sttings back to 0. I just have what feels like 30fps or a noticeable to the eye frame changes especiially when strafing or moving around large objects. I am wondering if this is what the community is still experiencing or if people are still experiencing the problems of launch day.

EDIT to say I downloaded the latest beta driver for nVidia and moved my MSAA back to 2 and turned on riva tuner, I am getting consistent 60-75FPS now but I still see the frame rate draws when i strafe side to side but I feel like its less noticeable before these changes. Posslby a placebo effect and no data on previous driver/settings to confirm it.

You trolling? I'm not saying it needs to be biased toward low end spec. I still have what's considered to be a fairly capable GPU myself in a 7970. The fact is LOTS of people of varying hardware get the stuttering problem.

I`m personally running an 8 core AMD FX Black Extreme with a set of Ripjaw RAM 8GB with a GTX 750OCTi card and I still get stuttering. Sure, the game runs fine for the first hour or 2, but then it just wants to take a dump. Mind you, if I then go to a secured outpost and save, it will not save my progress. I restart the game to find that what I`d tried to gather earlier, is to no avail. I`d suggest that Ubiturd.....I mean....Ubisoft fix their Sh1t!

^Well Misty just verified that the memory leak of patch 1.5 has been acknowledged and is being worked on. So hopefully next patch will fix the increasing stuttering and memory usage, and esp the crashes if playing over 2 hours.

This is great news, thanks for the update. I tried spending a couple hours trouble shooting again the other night and it was locking up and crashing after 20mins of messing around with it. Really hoping for the next patch soon.

I have a ticket open still and not received a reply in about a week from my last status update request. I'll keep posting any news I find as well!

Now with Patch 1.8 and my 970/i7 16GB/1080p the stuttering is really minimal... I got frustrated by patch 1.3. Glad I barely played, Just restarted. 1.8 is really useable.

I switched from TXAA to SMAA, but I assume that's a "work around" given what appears to be issues with TXAA.

Not that I'm knowledgeable enough to really know what exactly each setting for A-A should produce within the game on a 970. ...
