Regardless of whether it's true or not, Ubisoft needs to come out and tell us what to do. I know at least 20 other people with Dual Cores who bought this game and cannot play. NOWHERE did it say the requirement for a dual core. It had the requirements for CPU strength. That is unacceptably vague and unacceptable for a major corporation of today to not inform their customers.

I want an answer, and I want it today from Ubisoft. I've dropped a lot of money over the years for their products and to release a game as broken as Far Cry 4 is just pathetic. I can run any other game on high or ultra settings with only minor issues. I'm upgrading to a new system over the next couple of months but it's not going to be overnight and I don't want 60$ sitting and rotting for the next few months.

Well TBH I had the same issue, but inserted xeon x3210 instead of my core 2 duo 8400 and now game runs well (around 40FPS stable, on mid-High settings, 8GB RAM, GTX760 1680x1024)
Those core 2 quads or LGA 775 xeons are pretty cheap now on ebay, so if You are short on budget, that might save the day.
And well.. i don't whine, my system is outdated and that's it.

    Regards

Downloading third party software that isn't sanctioned by Ubisoft can be very hazardous to your computer.
Not more hazardous than buying Ubisoft software

I know Far Cry 4 is not nearly as harsh as that... Get your programmers to change the core 3 check to a core 0 check, and get rid of these artificial restrictions, ASAP.
Wait, wait, wait, the minimum requirements used to be a dual core processor and they changed that after people had ordered the game, seriously? Please tell me someone has a screenie of the dual core requirement, I have a lawyer brother who is just as pissed as I am.

Ubisoft decided to make the game this way, the game doesn't' need a quad core to run the only reason it is required is because the game was programmed that way. But if they changed the system requirements after people had ordered and did put out a special warning that the game now required a quad core and offered a refund to anyone with a dual core who had purchased it, then that is illegal and possibly fraud.

I have a quad core and I still cant start the thing......I get the app error not even the black screen. so I don't think that's the problem has something to do with the c++ or the dx
