Face-Off: Far Cry 4 - A tech showcase on console, but what's up with the PC game?

Quote - Sometimes the stutter is so bad, the PC displays the same image for 100ms, then the next for 80ms. Remarkable - and not in a good way.
Quote - However, in some scenarios, we still see equal stutter even with the mipmapping fix in place.

Runs perfect for me too with a i7 860, GTX 770 x2 with 2 GB RAM each, 16 GB RAM, well almost. Perfectly smooth on Ultra setting with none of the "stuttering" so many complain of. You don't need 4 video cards to play this game, and I doubt any. Only one thing wrong is a "ghosting" I get where an image from a previous scene will remain faintly and transparently on screen as I move around. Really only annoys me when in a dark scene, like supposed to be night, where it obscures the scene and I can't see. Not good when you're stuck on a grappling line on the side of a cliff and you can't see where you need to swing to land. You have to hang there until the sun comes up which is boring. Even worse, wait until the sun comes around to shine on you. At least in Fallout 3 you could sleep to get the time of day to where you want. But I digress. So as far as this game being tuned for NVidia, "The Way it's Meant to be Played" not quite NVidia. Better update the FC4 SLI profile pronto!Originally Posted by zazally Go to original post
Vsync locks to monitor refresh or an even division of that number. You cannot get 50FPS with vsync on using a 60, 120 or 144hz monitor, and cannot get 60FPS if you had a 100hz monitor (if they exist).Originally Posted by Marcus-73 Go to original post
60/30/20 for a standard 60hz monitor. 120, 60, 30 for a 120hz etc.
If you drop out of 60hz vsync you are switching between 30hz and 60hz, and will get stutter from that (hence g-sync exists), it's just not as noticable as the god awful optimisation related stutter that most people are getting in FC4.
Hell, even a 6GB Titan black did not help for eurogamer.net
He probably knows a lot about computers, yet... knows nothing about selling or buying a working product.Originally Posted by USAdystopia Go to original post
You can build a 1000 HP muscle car for racing but if you install bicycle wheels you will find yourself on a ditch real quick. The same is true is you try to use regular 87 octane gasoline or race with only 1 good wheel instead of 4 working wheels.
Do you understand where I am trying to go with this?
When you have people playing (or rather, trying to play) with I7, 16GBs of Ram and 1K graphics card and they are having issues, the problem is not with that rig.. the problem lies in the fact that the Greedy Bastards who created the game ported an already bad turd (what they call next-gen) and now it is even a bigger turd because they are capping the PC to lower stds,
