Some glitches for the developers to look at :)

    Hey all,

Pre-purchased Far Cry 4 because I loved the third one, so thanks for a great game.

Ive attached a few YouTube videos to have a look at, some glitches, none of them game breaking.

    Glitchy hidden area - http://youtu.be/xdROCwe7JvA

    Water Glitches 1 and 2 - http://youtu.be/zoEMc8N4oMQ and http://youtu.be/PSiRZTBPg8c

Theres also a really annoying glitch that happens when using the mortar in most areas; it zooms out way too far so that nothing is properly visible. Eventually if you move the mortar camera too much everything goes dark; still visible but as if its at night. http://youtu.be/9Rxt9-zQviY

And here comes the PC specs, note that none of the cpus/gpus etc are overclocked in any way
    Intel Core i7 990x
GeForce GTX 780 (running as my main card)
GeForce GTX 580 (running as a physx card - NOT SLI ! )
    12GB RAM
Windows 7 64bit (including all updates)
Loads of hard disks but the game runs from a 120GB SSD.
    NVidia Driver 344.75

3D Vision on the cards are switched off, and thats it I think.

Any comments would be grand, and any questions will be answered as soon as I see them.

    Cheers all

    Offero

    Can I add to this:

Strange FOV light rays, it seems to be more visable when you have the FOV slider higher than default:

Strange lighting in a dark cave from a unknown light source:
(Please forgive the phone camera, I grabbed the first thing to film it with as I was in game.)

Shadows disappearing when you get close to them:

All taken by me on a Gigabyte GTX980 running different driver version, but all problems are there no matter what driver you are using.

Ok, the bugs just gets stranger.
Now that I've past over the bridge into Pagan territory I am suffering, God Ray issues, HBAO+ glitches and shadows disappearing when you approach them..
Yet cross back over into the starting territory and shadows, HBAO+, God Rays work perfectly.

So here's a video all recorded in one sitting as I fast travel across the bridge.

    edit:
    New higher res video uploaded.

I have this exact same problem, running a 980GTX at max settings.

Ive found that if you go into an area where weapons are disabled, the shadows fix themselves. As soon as you start running away they mess up again. ALSO, it seems to happen in the northern part of the map and not the southern

    So it's not just me.
Seems Ubisoft can't blame the driver than, if it was an actual driver issue it would be on the whole map and not just the northern part.
Also I happens on 4 driver versions.

I uploaded a higher quality version of the switch between southern and northern area's.

    Update:
    This issue can be fixed.
While IN GAME set your display settings to low the jump back into the game, go back out and then cycle through the presets and select ultra, do not set NVIDIA.
You can turn on the nvidia settings manually.
Jump back in game and everything is back to normal north of the map.

I read somewhere (can´t quite remember where and if it was in german or english, sry) that the NVIDIA settings use a different shader for the lighting than the other settings. So if it fixes itsself when manually setting the nvidia settings, then that means the nvidia-shaders are bugged. I´ll try it out once I´m at home.

    Hey all,

Schoolofmonkey - a lot of those glitches are because of the really buggy implementation of the nvidia specific settings.
For example, as you've noted, dropping down to low settings then slowly putting everything back on works fine until you come to the HBAO and TXAA settings.
Setting the AO to SSAO and the AA to SMAA fixes those problem on my machine. It does make the game look like **** but at least you wont get as many gfx glitches.

Also, just to mention, sometime between the game being released and subsequent patches my copy no longer has this problem.

Also I think my mortar problem may be related to the FOV settings in the advanced menu. Unfortunately playing FC4 with a low FOV on my 32inch monitor and only sitting about 2 feet away from the screen makes it really difficult to navigate the game properly so I cant go changing that just for the mortar bug
