Game Save Broken/Bug what causes it, and how to fix it !!!!!!!

I ran into a gamestopping bug where the game would no longer save manual or auto savaes.. Here is the cause and the fix..

    The cause..

There are 2 save files. (1.save and 2.save) located at
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\df7e416a-72f6-46fd-b7fc-dd200d7a9471

Either an auto save or a manual save will alternate between those two spots. It just keeps flipping back and forth.. if 2.save was done by an autosave, then the next save (auto or manually initiated) will be saved at 1.save

What Farcr4 always uses when starting up, is the #.save file with the most recent saved as date. So if 2.save is more recent on the "date created", farcry4 will use THAT file..

UBI Cloud synch grabs the most recent #.save and saves it to the coud save.

Where this can all break down is if you Get a corrupted save.. If your save becomes corrupted, For example.. lets say 2.save becomes corrupted , then THAT corrupted save will also be saved to cloud synch. AND what a broken save will prevent the game from saving from there on.. Even if you delete both 1.save and 2.save from your computer, the cloud will copy the corrupted save back over to your computer (because the cloud will be the most recent date stamped file) and you will be stuck into a perpetual broken game unable to save..

    To FIX THIS..

    You need to..

1-Turn off Cloud synch in UPLAY (located in settings)
2-Back up your 1.save 2.save into a safe place (just in case)
3-Delete the corrupted save.. This will be the one that is most CURRENT date created file.
4-Load and play Farcry4.. Farcry4 will now load the good file.
5-Select Exit mission If you are on a mission, otherwise chose save..
This will generate a new save with a NEWER created filedate.
    6-Exit game.
    7-Turn Synch Back on..
    8-Play game as normal.. . It's fixed!

Notes: if you DO want to have multiple saves, you could use this method to do it manually.. periodically back your #.save files and you could always use those later by doing steps 1-8 above..

    Q/A
    Q. What if I just left cloud synch off? would this problem have ever happened?
    A. Yes, because it grabs the most recent dated file. If you wish to run with cloud always turned off, then you just need to do steps 2,3,4,5,6,8 above..

    Q. Why can't I just choose to use the alternate (older) file of the two saves from within the Game?
    A. Who knows.. FC4 doesn't allow you in game, it just automatically chooses the most recent time stamped file.

    Q. Is there any difference between an autosave and a manual save?
    A. Apparently not, only in the way they are initiated.

Great guide, only problem is that you will have to start completely over and play the game from the begining. Or at least that is what is happening to me. It never loads the second save file.

Whats happening i think, is that i deleted the game, and my 2 file is broken since its a save in the broken game or just the same as the corrupt.

I am not on a mission, but as far as i can figure out there is no way to exit a mission.

Whats happening is when i load my only save game, i then try to save to create a new not broken one,(auto save icon comes on but game freezes) but this just creates a 1.save-TMP file and a 1.save.upload. UPLOAD file. And if i try to delete my corrupt svae after this i only get the chance to start over.

Okay i dont know if the game is fixed but i got a new save. What i did was. Turn ON cloud sync, start a new game. exit the game. turn off sync, delete my first save, start the broken save, play til auto save. exit delete the first broken save and start the game it now loads from the new save
