Are U.S. and Canada Uplay servers seperate? | Forums

I am trying to get a Uplay member in Canada as a friend. On my end he always shows as "offline" (but at least his username shows up) On his end, my username does not EXIST.

The only thing I can think of is the U.S. and Canada servers don't talk to each other, which I hope is not true. But I am at a loss as to where to turn from here. We would very much like to play Far Cry 4 Co-Op.

Thank you for contacting us. You should be able to connect with friends across the world. I have Uplay friends across the Atlantic and they show up as online for me (This is between Canada and the UK). However, if one of you has accidentally blocked the other, they will always appear as offline.

In the Uplay client, if you hover over your friend and click on the arrow that appears on the right side. You will see some options, one of which is either "Block" or "Unblock". If you have blocked someone, you will also see the word "Unblock" listed, and there will be a circular symbol with a line through it.



If neither you nor your friend have blocked the other person, I suggest you contact the Ubisoft Support team directly for assistance. You can contact support through our ticket system's webform found by clicking on "My questions" on this page: https://support.ubi.com and then clicking "Ask a Question".

The only available thing to me after opening the arrow is "cancel friend request"

I cant block or unblock someone unless they are a friend. Which they are not yet. That is what we are trying to do!

Guess, i'll open a support ticket.

I'm sorry, I didn't realise that you hadn't yet both confirmed your friend request. Have you checked with your friend to find out what they see? If you sent them a request, they should see the pending invitation and be able to accept it either in their activity stream (in the Uplay PC client) or in their friends list (on the Uplay website).

I tested it myself a few minutes ago and found that if an invite was declined through the website friends list, then new invites from the same person wouldn't show up until I logged out and logged in again. So I'd suggest you try cancelling and re-sending your friend request, and you ask your friend to try logging out of the Uplay website and then logging in again to see if that makes the invitation appear.

On my end I see the friend request (which I already had tried what you suggest).

However on his end, my username does not even exist. "no username found" (my username is the same as on these forums) his is "fligman".

I just tried to do a search using the friends search tool in the Uplay PC client and was able to find someone called "Fallen_SLI", their avatar is someone wearing a bright orange coat. The "fligman" I found however didn't display an avatar. Are you certain that's the correct spelling for your friend's account? If your friend hasn't yet, I'd suggest you ask them to head to the Uplay website and log in, just to be certain there is nothing that needs to be done through the website to fully complete their account creation process.

As long as your friend is entering your name exactly as written, they should be able to find you.

OK I just tried it Again and Now I see Fallen_Sli, Friend request sent, I have no Idea why I could not see or find him the other day. Even sent him a pic showing nothing came up (no Match) when I searched for friends. That said - I can see him and did send the request, Now hope he can see it and then all is well,

Wow. Ok get this.

Yesterday when I had quit the game after playing and was sent back to the main Uplay screen, something different happened. All this time I had been playing the game, my activities had NEVER reflected me playing FC4 nor reaching any game achievements. Until then. I literally saw them pop up on the right side after the game closed. And I did think in the back of my mind “I wonder if fligman can see me now” And it did!

But even more odd, Now I show him as a friend, I STILL have the friend request for “fligman” I DID try to search for him before using this first letter capitalized name and all I got was the lower case name. Whatever. Hopefully it will work. Weird.

I'm glad to see that your issue seems to be progressing. The only difference I see is that originally you mentioned your friend's name was "fligman" (with an a) rather than "Fligmin" (with an i).

I hope you're both able to get in game and have fun together now.
