    5.1 ch audio support

    Will it happen?

I don't like having to change my audio settings every time I play FC4

Fingers crossed they add support for the next patch

It hasn't been fixed with Watch Dogs yet so I can't see a quick fix for this game either.

Wow, seriously, no 5.1 surround support, that's pathetic in this day and age. Today I just managed to get my Onkyo setup properly for the pc and every game runs with 5.1 surround sound, just NOT Far Cry 4.

Games from indie devs even manage to support this. I have heard this a lot lately and sadly I'm jumping on the same wagon, this is my last UBISoft game that I pre order. I'll wait for a few weeks and catch the vibes from everyone else. That's if there is anyone else left buying their games at launch. I opted out of Assassins Creed Unity because of all the issues I had with Black Flag and I was relieved and saddened when I saw the backlash from that one. I still can't play Watchdogs and that was a game I pre ordered. In any other industry this would be taken a lot further.

I have a 5.1 headset that connects via USB has its own internal sound card (true 5.1 with individual drivers, not emulated) and I get full surround with that. I also have a 5.1 speaker setup connected via analalog and I get full surround with that. I believe there is a problem with digital HDMI/Optical connections though, which I haven't tested. I have an onkyo receiver in my living room connected to my computer via HDMI, I will test tonight to see if I can get surround sound in there as well. In the mean time my advice would be to use analog connections if your receiver supports them.

Yes, it is only DDL 5.1 surround that is affected. I have a surround sound headset that plugs in via usb and that works fine but I'm out of luck for connecting with anything other than digital for my speakers. Switching to stereo and then using my Creative control panel to expand it to 7.1 via software emulation was how I played through Watch Dogs in the end, not great but at least I had sound. I'm waiting to see if a patch comes out to fix keyboard and mouse controls before I play this so I hope the sound fix comes along with that too.

What worked for me on the muse acceleration issue, was using the gamerprofile.xml fix, disabling pointer precision in windows, and disabling my logitech gaming software for my mouse. The first two fixes didn't do anything on their own, it wasn't till I disabled the mouse software that the acceleration stopped. I depend on the software though for mapping all the buttons on my mouse though, and I was able to find a work around. By switching from the Automatic Game Detection Profiles mode to the On Board Memory Profile mode on my mouse. Using that I have no acceleration.

Wow thanks, that actually works although it's asking a lot just for one game. I have a CM Storm Sentinel mouse and setting that to use the onboard profile instead of the software after the first two fixes did the trick, it does mean I'm stuck at a lower DPI than I'd like as it only seems to disable acceleration with the default profile but it's way better than before. Still can't make RMB my jump button without walking backwards and grapple problems though.

Many thanks for the info buddy, I'll have to try it with my headset, I have a pair of Sharkoon x-tatic headphones that I use on my PS4 upstairs.

I'm currently using my mobo audio, it's the Asus Maximus VII Formula so it's a decent enough supply but yeah I'm using an optical/toslink cable connected directly to the Onkyo TX-NR609.

When I connected directly to my Onkyo with HDMI I found I got a little bit of a delay in the response time so I connected to the TV (Sony Bravia 55 inch) first and then back out to the Onkyo, and this gave me no delay with the mouse movement. I thought I was being overly fussy but I switched it back the other day to see what it was like and wow, the fact that I've got used to it directly connected to the TV really highlighted how bad it was. Have you noticed anything like this on your Onkyo ?

The punks still haven't acknowledged this as an issue. Fix the DDL 5.1 here and now so that future Chicken Kiev releases are not broken. OR just ask Ubisoft Montreal/Toronto to educate you seeing as they got not only DDL5.1 but 21:9 working.

My experience as well. I've disabled my onboard multichannel sound; and plugged in my older USB Creative Pro 5.1 X Fi, and outputted that to my Onkyo home theater system (via analog cables to the auxiliary inputs on the back of my HT receiver). Great positional audio and sounds killer!
