    Crash after opening cutscene

As soon as you gain movement control after the opening cutscene i get a "Far Cry 4 has stopped working" error and it crashes to desktop.

This has happened twice now. I cant face sitting through the 20 minute unskippable cutscene again only to have it crash again!

    Any ideas?

    Also....

Seriously what they hell where they thinking making it unskippable!

This is after suffering for days with the 0005 bug. I am beginning to think i will never play this fricking game!

Same issue here, game loads up fine through uplay, cutscene plays but as soon as i'm about to get control it crashes straight to desktop.
I've heard that windowed mode is broken but I've had it crash in both fullscreen and windowed mode.

At this point i'm just hoping this mythical patch that is coming soon with actually let me play the game as i am sick of watching the opening cutscene over and over.

I've had this problem with 2 cutscenes now, not the first one, but I have now seen that intro about 10 times thanks to saves not working and without the ability to skip it can get right on your tits!

Anyway, try simply turning your graphics down and try watching it again. I play with the Nvidia settings and setting it to Very High allowed me to get past cutscene!

    Hope that helps!

Thanks i will give that a try. I also heard that unplugging ALL usb devices can fix it.

Its ridiculous that we should have to be doing such things to get a game to work.

Turning down the graphics down made no difference.

I tried a few things with USBs from unplugging everything as it was playing the opening cutscene, to having everything apart from the mouse unplugged before i started. If anything this seemed to make the situation worse.

Interestingly by only unplugging my USB keyboard i then got the crash on the first loading screen which a lot of people seem to get.

I think this is the worst launch of a game i have ever experienced.

    Crash after opening cutscene

After downloading a HUGE 31GB, I too am having this same problem. I tried various graphics settings. I also tried running it as the administrator, which clearly didn't help.

Poor form Ubisoft...I did not pay 70 big ones to watch an un-skippable ten minute intro scene.

    Possible solution

Alright guys. This worked for me (fingers crossed it'll work for you too).

Go into the install directory - ...\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Far Cry 4\bin then delete the FC64.dll

Then go back into uplay and verify the game files. It'll then come up saying there were errors/corruptions and ask you to repair it. Press 'Repair' and once it's done, the game should be working.

I run a 64bit OS btw, but I assume the process would be very similar for a 32bit OS.

Regarding the unskippable cutscenes, may I recommend you play this game on Offline mode... when I've tried Online mode, do loads of missions then lose connection.
It doesn't save and I have to go redo everything... but not only that, it always seems to take me back to a damn cutscene

Ubisoft, isn't it about time you got some beta testers?... and preferably ones with a mouse and keyboard!!

Not the worse release for me, the sequel to one of my favourite games Orcs Must Die 2. I couldn't get more that 5fps on that and everything took too long to load. Still haven's played it.
I was rather impressed there was an SLI Profile for FC4... saying that the Farcry 3 one works so much better

Oh, just had a thought, something else that has caused problems that you could try. Disable any overlay related software like Steam or Precision/Afterburner
