Any fixes to the field of view resetting bug?

It's really frustrating. Whenever I enter the animated 'cutscene' on towers the field of view appears to reset back to default. When I adjust the in-game slider back up to max FoV and hit apply nothing changes. The only way to change it back is to restart the game which is a complete pain in the butt.

Are there any solutions yet? I've googled the problem but not come across anything

Hopefully they will include a fix for the FOV in patch 1.4, should be released sometime next week.

Ubi****e may have fixed the FOV issue but it's still broken after getting into the back of the truck for the City of Pain mission. My FOV is set to the max allowed in the settings. After the cutscene of Ajay exiting the truck the FOV has reset to default and there is sod all I can do about it because there are no vehicles to get into and out of to reset it back again on this mission.

I get motion sick with a narrow FOV so my time with Far Cry 4 would appear to be at an end.

According to a few here, the problem is yours... you should learn how to tweak computers. if and when you do, your problems will go away. Other than that, the solution (according to them) is to buy a console. Consoles don't have issues (hahahahahahaha).

All I can say is 9 patches later and the FOV is just an afterthought. Consoles don't need field of view so they just did not bother to code it for PC (sorry, they wanted to catch Pirates so they did it on purpose)... 9 patches later and it appears they are not done catching all of the pirates in the world.

Are you stating that once out of the truck, you can't change the FOV back to your own setting for the remaining part of the mission? IOW, the FOV function isn't available, or changing it back has no effect?

I've been tweaking games for more than 30 years, starting with POKE's!

Correct. I found the only way to change it back is to jump off somewhere high enough to use the wingsuit and the FOV jumps back to where I set it in the options. There's no other way to do it since there is no vehicle to get into and out of to fix it during that mission.

How I'm reading this is that within the game, the problem is created within the city of pain story mission at a specific point, you lose your FOV setting, and from that point on, in the game no matter what you may be doing, there's only one way to restore your desired FOV setting, correct?

If so, don't see how getting in-out of a vehicle (you're in free-roam mode) would make any difference in any event. The problem pops up within the coding of a main story mission, most likely in the cut-over from getting into the truck, then at rear of truck at the city.

What takes place when you go to option menu, and attempt to change the FOV setting following the mission, say, standing in a safe hose or simply on side of a road?

UPDATE: just happened to be at the point of doing the City of Pain mission with patch 1.8 (from start of this run), completely off-line. My FOV is set at about 3/4. I had no issues whatsoever with the game changing the FOV, during, or afterwards. FWIW.

    Tried playing some FC4 yesterday.

FOV is still bugged. Atleast in Coop.

I think the FOV got locked to 65 when entering/leaving vehicles in some way.

The major issue is that you don't really notice it. Suddenly you just feel motionsick and want to puke. Then you realize the FOV is stuck at 60-ish, and it doesnt matter what to do with the FOV slider... The only thing you can do is ALT-F4, and leave the coop-mission.

Well, now we now, the game isn't a PC game. It should be played layed back as a console game..

I bought 3 copies of this game in the family. I say: this will be the last UBI game for us..

Confirmed what comtronic said. A friend and I bought this recently and tried coop, and this bug is the first thing I noticed when we started coop. Needless to say it's unlikely to be fixed now since it's a year after release.
