    Question about outposts in fc4

    Hi guys.
    A few outposts related questions:

    1) if i take over an outposts and the area around said outpost is no longer red in the map, what changes in the AI behavior in the game world? Are there still enemy Ai presense in that area or does the area become boring like in Fc3?

    2) did anyone try resetting the outposts in the menu? Does this prevent fast travel to these outposts along with all the missionsthat appear in these outposts? Or maybe the missions in these outposts reset and can be completed again?

    3) what happens if the enemies take over an outpost? I guess i could guess if i new the answers to the above questions...

    hey top,

    1. You still encounter enemies in karma events and skirmishes after taking over all outposts and fortresses.

    2. Yes, once you reset them you lose your fast travel points and the side missions you have left will remain hidden until you takeover the outpost and fortresses again.

    3. The enemies can attack your outposts but they never take them back(the only way you can lose your outpost is if you reset them all in the options menu.
    a few of the reviewer sites claimed enemies could reclaim outposts but they cannot; this can never happen no matter if you choose to ignore an outpost under-attack it is never retaken by the enemy.

    1) so is there a difference in the enemy AI encounters when "clearing" an area from the red color in the map, in your opinion?

    3) really? that is strange. i'd imagine this wouldnt be the case :-/ kinda seems pointless to have these events if nothing can ever happen. it seriously diminishes the sense of urgency.
    so there is absolutely no downside to not participating in the hostile take overs?

    4) i only had ONE take over attmept in all of my playtime so far and i played more than 10 or 12 hours.... strange and disappointing.... not that i want one every 30 minutes or so, but once every couple of hours could be nice.

    1. I'm gonna say that there doesn't seem to be a huge difference even before you capture all the outposts(seeing as there's a civil war happening) you'll come across golden path allies even in the red areas on the map and there doesn't seem to be a really big enemy presence like in far cry 3 where there were as a pirate/privateer patrol every five seconds, sometimes you'll go a couple of minutes while driving without seeing any enemies(again, this being before you capture any of the outposts, so in short no there isn't really much difference after taking all the outposts, enemies still spawn in karma events. one other thing is that all the outposts are replacing by roaming convoys called pagan's wrath and they continue to respawn forever. all karma events continue happening as well.

    3. Well it is sort of ******** that one reviewer claims that enemies can retake their outposts when really all they do is attack your outpost and no matter if you choose to ignore it or not the outpost will go back to normal. Yesterday I sat and watched the enemy kill every single golden path guy and instead of them taking my outpost they just sat there doing nothing so i'm guessing that they weren't meant to reclaim lost outposts although some say otherwise.. it's not true, enemies cannot retake their outposts.

    strangely enough though I have had a message pop up saying that "I failed to defend an outpost" so it may have been an intentional feature that was removed due to them not being able to get it to function properly, also the reviewer could have been playing an almost finished build of the game that allowed outposts to be taken back by the enemy.

    As for defending outposts it gives you karma points and money I think.

    1) im really glad with that answer. i hated how boring the game world has become around cleared outposts. they made a great decision this time.
    actually FC4 is mode all the bad decisions in FC3 right. everything that was present in FC3 and still is present in FC4 is just done better and more fun.

    3) that's a bit of a shame, but oh well...
