South America! Machu Picchu, Atacama Desert, Mayans, cannibals, rebel fighters, communists, huge mountains, crazy trains, gorgeous beaches, McAfee.... South America has the next step in the world of Far Cry. I'd like to see a cast of fun loving, adventure junkies, that are chill rock climbers with a couple fitness chicks going to South America to climb some epic peak. Rather than just a grapple for cliffs it should be some kind of rock climbing. They could also incorporate kite boarding, surfing, and the jetlev in addition to huge rope swings with air time. America Ninja warrior has some great ideas for a greater variety of obstacle challenges.
Willis Huntley could have an Apocalypse now kind of retirement world, and he could do something to cause the main character to want to get even.
I'd also like to see different tactics from different bad guys as the game progresses. Later in the game bad guys should be better at hiding, stalking, and team tactics. The bad guys should try to distract you and then come up from behind. Bad guys should be funny in getting you to chase them or when they jump out to scare and attack you.
Honestly I'd like to see Far Cry 5 go back in time to the Vietnam War. Imagine the rough terrain of Vietnam jungles with the forest fires and maybe even dangerous floods and landslides during the rainy season. Hopefully we'll have access to a real helicopter to drop off, rescue, and scout from. Call in Napalm strikes on a large scale.
Vietnam was complex, divisive, and had many moving parts. We could travel the Ho Chi Min trail, fight alongside the despairing French at Diem Ben Phu, meet former imperial Japanese soldiers still fighting American imperialism, assassinate South Vietnam's leader, and go back to using the jungle traps in the earlier far cry games.
Since Far Cry 2, the series has been a war game without actually going to war. I'd like to raid outposts with a team of killable randomly name generated NPCs with the option to go in solo or to just stand on high ground directing the battle. With the right economy system we could even jsut call for napalm or rolling thunder strikes on villages to clear them faster.
South east Asia would be cool too with Halong Bay, world's largest caves in Quang Binh Vietnam, Angkor Wat/Thom Temples, and a never ending supply of insurgency groups.
Here are some other suggestions.
I really liked getting to fix up my place in Far Cry 4. I'd like to see more of that in 5 only with more levels of improvements in appearance and amenities. It would be great to continually improve the house throughout so by the end it was epic. A vehicle like a yacht, that I could improve would also be great.
Taking home trophies for a trophy display case in your house would be awesome too, much like the tapestry in 4, but with even more significance to the appearance of the house.
Changing the way you get new guns would be good. To get a new gun or gun upgrade (scopes, clips, silencers etc) you would have to fight your way into a place to raid their weapons stash/gun case, or hijack a shipment of rare weapons, or defeat a boss to take his gun. To find and/or earn your guns would be a fun and rewarding challenge rather than just getting more guns by unlocking them in a store. Getting a new gun should be more of an event. We should get to try it out on the spot to get a feel for the gun's merits, and for the significant guns, a character in the story should expound the gun's virtues.
Rather than treasure chests everywhere with forgettable items it should be fewer items in realistic places but real items to help you on your quests. You should have to find your maps in realistic places, or buy them at specific locations, or get them from people you help. You should be able to get 'intel' from people you help too, such as where the next counter insurgence strike will be, or where a great weapon is, or where there is a huge stash of money.
Taking over a camp now is rewarding but to get to a unique treasure you can put in your trophy case, get money, a new weapon or weapon attachment, defeat a specific bad guy at that camp, (the military puts terrorist's faces on playing cards so that combatants can become familiar with who they are going after), or a new vehicle or parts would make it even more rewarding.
A majority of money should be earned in a more plausible way, such as by taking over a camp and getting to their money supply, or ambushing a convoy, or stealing a car or prized item and taking it to a buyer. That would be rewarding, rather than searching bodies for items (that gets old fast), or taking money from the populace (seriously doubt people would part with their cash so easily), or finding money just laying around. Fewer but bigger payoffs that you had to work for would be a better way to get cash than walking around like a chicken, pecking at treasure chest boxes and dead bodies.
You should be able to develop a relationship with a girl by doing things for her, getting things for her, and impressing her. It's event driven character development. It would be like the arena in 4 only you'd get different payoffs.
The collecting plants thing to make syringes is getting old too. Turning the roving salesman in Far Cry4 into a roving drug dealer in 5 that you'd have to pay off to get syringes is a little greasy but more plausible and less painful than harvesting plants.
And what's with the bed in Far Cry 4??? It would make more sense to have an energy level and need to eat/drink and sleep to keep it high. Incorporating food joints throughout the map where you'd have to eat now and again, and occasionally sleep to get the energy up would be cool, especially since you could make some food give you tons of energy and other things make you sick. This could add a lot of comedy with some foods making you belch, fart and others such as energy drinks give you a huge energy boost but a big crash after it wears off. Making sure you had a good meal before a big attack would be an interesting and plausible feature.
The camera should be able to take 'selfies'. You should be able to hit a button and make the camera look at yourself. When you assassinate someone you should be able to flip the camera and get yourself in the photo, and you should be able to use controls to control your facial expression (like Little Big Planet) and take a selfie with your prize moments. These pictures should be on the walls of your house when you get to your in-game home.
4 is a bit tedious. Too many towers, too many of the same missions, too many sites to visit etc. It's a great game, and huge, but their needs to be more that draws you in. More compelling story, more originality from mission to mission and not just size. A great story is one where you are pulled in because you have to know what happens next. The couple of us that are playing the game are at the 60% mark and I could stop playing and not care that much.
Far Cry 3 had better characters and story. 4 is no slouch but it isn't as tight as 3. Far Cry 5 you should hire a real movie director to oversee the story. These guys know how to entertain with a story and an experience. James Cameron's Avatar exhibit in Seattle was as entertaining as his movie. Steven Spielberg's involvement in Call of Duty made it awesome. John Lassetar did an incredible job with the Car's ride in California Adventure. Bottom line, these guys know what an audience likes no matter the medium. Also, don't skimp on your comedians in the game. Humor is a huge part of why these games are good and I wouldn't screw around. Bring in the pros to make the funny parts.
Wow, sorry for the long post. NO BRAKES!
They have sent out surveys.
I would go with the Alaska extreme wilderness survival with big masses of snow.Originally Posted by Ix Johnnien xI Go to original post
Where ever Far Cry 5 is located I would like to see a Volcano involved lava and magma would look so good in Far Cry maybe set on a greek island.
I dont relly like the look of ICE and SNOW on Far Cry 4 it does not look as good as I thought it was going to maybe if they had of added big glacier or something. Also I miss the tanker ships from Far Cry 3 should bring those back or cruise ships could have a crues ship if set in greek islands.
Like Blood Dragon, Far Cry 4 could have an intermediate game set in somewhere crazy like a mad max world or space.
5 should stick with a more plausible, semi real world scenario. An Island in the Mediterranean would be very cool. Cyprus, Gibraltar, Syracuse there are many locations you could roll into the game. The story could go like, you and the friends get kidnapped by some super rich corrupt guy. The corrupt guy gets you to do missions for him in exchange for not killing off your friends. You have to avoid the cops, military, and officials as you complete first missions, but you eventually win over various groups of the bad guy's team, destroy and take over the rest, and turn his organization against him.
When taking over camps, each camp should have a unique tactic they use to defeat you.
First off, camps could have more plausible routines. It was great to see guys exercising in 4. How about adding more routines, like guys eating together, or large meetings, or repairing equipment, or sleeping, any number of other routines. When they get alerted, they should go to battle stations, some of them protected so you can't just snipe everyone.
