Finally, A fix for Stuttering that Works!

    I am running an @7 @4.2ghz, 32gbram, and two GTX 780s SlI.

Like many of you, I have been experiencing an intermittent stuttering/hiccup when I moved fast around the environment.
I tired EVERYHING including every tweak in gamerprofile.xml, every setting combination in Nvidia drivers, vsynch combination. nothing eliminated the stuttering..

Then Today I finally found the single fix to EVERYTHING including Stuttering, Mouse Aiming, Input Lag
The fix I found is to use MSI afterburner to framelimit 60fps then turn off vsynch everywhere..

    This Solved Multiple problems..

** Made the game completely liquid smooth including driving, moving, fighting..
** Removed the input lag associated with vsynch on, yet gives the same liquid smooth look of vsynch..
** Fixed the mouse stutter when aiming (combined with setting the mouse.
** Caps the framerate to 60 so gpu keeps cool

I also set the mouse acceleration and smoothie to zero in the XML file. but It turned out the negative "mouse acceleration" I was experiencing was actually related to the Stutter! The stutter was giving the illusion of negative mouse acceleration.

Side note, you will want to monitor your GPU,CPU, and FPS via overlay.. If you DO experience stuttering after this fix, it will be because of a FPS drop below 60.. which can then be fixed by scaling back your video settings appropriately.

Here is the direction for setting FPS in after burner..

There is one change, the fps limit location has changed,

Nope... glad this might have worked for you, but a lot of people have tried this to no avail. The game engine is causing the stutter, just like FC3.. and Ubi will probably not fix it.

I don't see this working for those of us with Non MSI hardware.

Off topic: MSI Afterburner is not just gor MSI hardware, it works on any hardware, any maker, any model, Nvdia or AMD. It's called MSI because it was first released a long time ago with MSI cards, since then it has become the go to software for anyone who wants to tweak & monitor their video cards. I've used it with Gigabyte 9600GT, MSI HD5770,MSI HD6850,Sapphire 7870,Asus GTX760, MSI GTX970.

On topic: This tweak doesn't do anything. Limiting the fps to 60 just helps mitigate the stuttering because the framerate drops from 60 to 40 instead of say 80 (i assume a 780 SLI can to 80) to 40. Which is a noticeable difference but the framerate drops are still there it's just that the gap is not that big from maximum fps to minimum fps. Placebo effect. Sorry.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I have a ROG Matrix(P)HD7970 and had the stutter...

With Ultra-Settings I had up to 120FPS with Drops in Village to 40FPS (Godrays at Volumetric Fog).
Even with Low Settings and VSync and constant 60FPS I had the stutter!

So I tryed to Play the game like the Console-Version -> they all run at 30FPS, even the Nextgen-Versions!!!!

I downloaded Afterburner-Tool and give it a try - set the FPS to 30!

Now I have no stuttering (with or without all Settings you can imagen) at 1080p and can run Enhanced Godrays too! -> at 60FPS that would not be possible with my Grafikcard... only Volumetric Fog... I also try to run at 60FPS with the Aferburner-Tool but even at low Settings I have that stutter

Only 30FPS works for me... lol it seems we live in a "Consol-Gamer-World"..... I also have a XBoxOne but like to Play FPS on my PC....

I wait untill a "good" patch will be released -> and run the game at 30FPS till that happens

No one wants to waste their time with kludgey remedies when the problem is with the product itself, which at the moment is a piece of crap. For the record, I don't "live in consol-gamer-world". I don't "also have a XboxOne ", and I'm not "lol-ing" about the poor quality of this game and the even worse responsiveness shown by UBISOFT to those who purchased this game for the PC

Hmm.... you never know, maybe you'll help them figure out what the problem is. I guess it never hurts to contribute to the knowledge base.
