Having read your original post BWX232, I'm taking it that you have remapped your aim key to "Keypad Num 1" ... if that's correct, it may be that the game doesn't accept key pad remaps. I've not verified that, but ... I have remapped my left mouse key to walk forward, then Aim to I and Fire to H. (I use a Nostromo n52te) .. so the assigned letters don't mean anything with regard to keyboard fingering. I am able to ascend and descend with no issues. For sake of tying something different, have you tried letter keys to remap to see if that works for you?
1.4.0 fixes ropes climbing issues already.. w/o any actions needed by user at all. They just fixed that particular key-bind issue (at least fo rthe way my keys are currently bound) other people aren't so lucky probably..Originally Posted by Stockdale50 Go to original post
There are several more that are not fixed. Mostly to do with mouse wheel binding, "grenade type" stuck to mouse wheel or nothing at all, mouse wheel not zooming camera (or riffle scopes I imagine) if you bind mouse wheel up for "next weapon" and that is all you can bind it to because stupid game treats "mouse wheel" as ONE button when you rebind it. You cannot use mouse wheel to "change weapon" for example as it will not let you use mouse wheel down if you bind mouse wheel up. Also page-up and page-down are stuck to mouse wheel (last I checked when mouse wheel was left default to zoom camera), so that you cannot bind p.up and p.down anymore which I need to do being left handed. Also if you bind "aim" to something other than right mouse button, it breaks mounted weapon aiming no matter what. It is just impossible, at least that is what happens in FC3 to this day as they never fixed it in that game. I am not far enough in FC4 to even test it yet.
Too many key binding issues to even lest here, it would take an hour. Key binding is just basically broken as soon as you start re-mapping keys, exactly what key-binding is there to allow you to do. Some people need to use other-than-default keys for a lot of different controls, and that completely breaks important parts of thew game.
Drop the guard down man and take a chill pill... no need to get so defensive lol! I spent money on my rig and I had no issues with the game. I don't see why I have to post a video to prove a point to one person on a forum, especially as you can just go on Youtube and find evidence of this yourself that the game runs flawlessly.Originally Posted by BWX232 Go to original post
There is a workable solution BWX232. Though Mouse software, bind left and right tilt wheel to next weapon, previous weapon (in my case it's N and B. Yes I was aware of the mounted gun problem in FC3, but I don't believe it's a problem in FC4 (I'll stand corrected), But I don't seem to recall I've had that problem in FC4. Not having any issues with zoom because I've left the default mouse wheel as is.Originally Posted by BWX232 Go to original post
By the way, I also have sli 670's and am running both with most settings on Ultra. CPU is a i7 950. 24g non specific ram. I've done the mipmap settings, set Smaa, God Rays off. I run MSI Afterburner to lock FPS at 60. Although I still get stuttering, it's playable most of the time with intermittent drops in fps to less then 30. Vehicles produce the most stuttering, but again ... I'm at least playing and the stuttering pretty much quits when I exit the vehicle. After a couple of hours I have to exit the game and restart because the fps drops to 20's. Read somewhere in Reddit that there is a memory leak. Restarting resolves that issue.

I am playing this game on GTX 660 as well. The game runs little laggy when I play on Very High and very few lags in High graphics settings compared to very high. I want to play this game on Nvidia, so I am purchasing NVIDIA GTX 980...
But this game is awesome. Its kinda repetative with side quest. But I am enjoying playing it, as its an upgrade to FC3.
Kirksteruk - why are you on these forums? All you do is troll other people and try to minimize the problems they are having. As if telling them you don't have any problems with your computer, means they shouldn't either. It's ridiculous, and makes it appear that you're really some sort of low level Ubisoft employee getting his rocks off on trying to convince people it's not Ubisoft's worthless programming, but the customers that are really the problem. If you're not going to be constructive and help people, and don't have any problems apparently with your own computer, then why are you here posting your crap?Originally Posted by kirksteruk Go to original post
It is a little ironic that you are calling troll but you're the only one throwing insults here. I'll leave it up to the mods to clean up your act.Originally Posted by GriffZ06 Go to original post
Liar.. go troll somewhere else. These problems are real. Nothing to do with my rig.. as I said, go troll elsewhere, people see through your obvious lies.Originally Posted by kirksteruk Go to original post
More bald faced lies. Everyone had same issues. Mouse acceleration and key bind issues, and stuttering on ultra textures no matter what rig, and at the time I wrote OP, ropes unclimbable with certain key-binds, pitch black shadows w/ SLI, etc., etc., etc.Originally Posted by Prince_Of_Persia Go to original post
You are not special and did not get a version of FC4 not plagued with these same issues. You too can go troll somewhere else
I just updated to 1.5 (or whatever the new update was) and haven't tested or read about it yet, so not sure what they fixed or didn't fix yet.Originally Posted by Stockdale50 Go to original post
I use mouse wheel right for melee, and mouse wheel left to throw grenade and mouse wheel up for next weapon, so can;t just switch to mouse wheel side-to side for weapon change like I did in blood dragon. I only played through that once and it was a chore because of same key-bind problems..
Eventually I will have to completely change mouse/ keyboard binds all around in FC4 to "get it to be playable".. But then that doesn't even start to fix all the keys that aren't changeable from on foot to vehicle, to air.. and that opens up a whole new set of problems that might be fixable, might not be.
There's no excuse for this crap really. It's all down to lazy porting from game-pad console controls to mouse and keyboard PC controls. They fixed "most" issues on FC3, but they have not fixed them in FC4.
If you're still experiencing issues after patch 1.5.0, please post in this thread here: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...nce-amp-Issues
