Should I invest on balance bikes? I do not plan to break/challenge world records. So I'd like to know which bike will give you the most benefits to progress the story.
I think they provide the best bang for buck. What do you guys think? Let me know![]()
iviarkD is right. I know it seems odd, but its all in RLs calcualtions; they almost "give" you the Balance Bikes in the story, but they know you will soon need those Agile bikes...they want to try and get you to spend money. You get more for your investment by focussing on the Agile bikes whenever possible; one level on an Agile bike is worth about 2 levels on a Balance Bike, so it doesnt take long for the Agile bikes to handily beat the Balance bikes. Furthermore, later on you will get the "island", which has 6 tougher-than-usual Tier1 tracks on it; without a high-level Tier1 Agile bike you will be in very sad shape.
Since you will have to invest so much coin and upgrade parts overall, you dont want to overinvest in any other kind of bike until later (post-story). I recommend taking your other bikes up to 3/3/3/3 (or maybe a little more sometimes)... because the slot machine WILL force you to use those other bikes, so you will need to take them all just far enough that you can do the slot machine challenges on any given track. Otherwise, you will occasionally have to skip a challenge and lose valuable gems....
Also... you want this link, and the 5-6 other links you will find at the start of that one. (slot machine rewards, cost of bike upgrades, hints for solving quests, etc)

Thanks guys, I have used Tango for most of the Tier 1 bike missions until Armadillo started getting faster.
One thing is that Balance bikes are cheap to upgrade and require mostly low level parts. So what I end up doing is upgrade the Balance bike until the Agile bike is equivalent in parts requirement or cost.
I've noticed that Agile bikes do gain stats quicker than Balance bikes with each upgrade. Goes in line with what xitooner said. But does it beat the Armadillo in speed?
And I can't do those island tracks. Too hard and/or too weak bikes.
All of my bikes are 3, 3, 3, 3 and up.
I skip impossible Lotz challenges just by waiting an entire day. Then it resets itself.
It is now =)Originally Posted by the_hezy Go to original post

How embarrassing; beaten by an Armadillo.Originally Posted by Ch4er0n Go to original post(xitooner makes note to go improve Parched Cliff sometime)
However, you top-10 guys (Burnzee, you, etc) could get good scores while riding a shopping cart; the rest of us mortals need every advantage we can get.The vast majority of top scores are still Agile Bikes (or Speed Bikes for the tracks that suit it best), so the odds are the best value for your hard-earned money is there.
It does bring up a good point though; on my second run-through, my alternate ID has on numerous occasions beaten my xitooner ID handily with less upgraded bikes. (Rank 5 on Monster Lake vs 110, for instance). Its nice to know that for this game... its not ALWAYS about the bike upgrades, and skill does matter (and now that I have more skill, I gotta go back and make another round with xitooner....)

I have two kids: one aged 5, the other 2.5. They both started on the balance bike at 2 years old.
Thanks to the balance bike, the older child has been able to ride a bike without stabilizers since his 3rd birthday, but refuses to part with it as it's so much fun!
Balance bike can develop the balance of the young toddler, it's worth to invest a balance bike. For more information about balance bike, I highly recommend this article: why are balance bikes good?
