They listened, very intently in fact.
People complained about weapon degradation in FC2, is was removed, yet people wanted it back for FC3 and FC4 (I'm one of them).
People complained about respawning outposts, those were removed for FC3, yet were patched shortly after release to allow repopulation.
People complained about malaria, it's been removed, and unfortunately not been replaced with anything that reminds you of character maintenence, apparently you can run full speed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and not even have to drink, eat, or sleep. Fine if all you want to do is kill stuff, ridiculous if you appreciate a bit of reality in your games.
So it seems when they do listen, half the people appreciate it, the other half are upset.
Frankly I'm surprised they listen at all now, because they sure get badly mistreated and savagely demeaned for the slightest infractions, let alone questionable major decisions they've made.
Lastly, if your complaint is "they've got their money, they don't care":
1). That's a liberal/socialist position. Profit is NOT "evil". You best be happy they are making money because the certainly wouldn't be making games if they weren't.
2). We enjoyed a very quick turnaround from FC3 to FC4, based solely on the success of FC3. Way more people enjoyed FC3 than did not, and Ubisoft was justified in assigning lots of resources to create another installment.
3). The more happy customers, the more income, the ore people to devote time to making even better games.
4). Try being positive with feedback, you are likely to get a better response by not calling them thieves.
Well stated. The same sort of bashing goes on at the Bungie forums as well.
All I ask is that the people responsible moderating the forums and "managing" the community actually let us know they exist.
It's one thing to say that Ubisoft has made their money and doesn't care about their consumers. But this statement gains some truth when there is no sense of help or even a simple response to problems.
C'mon. It's like the company wants nothing to do with any sort of complaint/feedback. They make you jump through hoops to get any sort of contact with someone that has any kind of connection to the development team or the company itself.
I respect the industry, but I don't feel that the consumer base receives the same respect.
We're here! There are a ton of us, actually. I'm speaking for myself when I say this, but a lot of my time on the forums is dedicated to the support forums -- where people need help with issues they are experiencing. The faster we are able to respond to players having issues, the faster we can gather information about these issues, and the faster we (the Developers) can fix them.Originally Posted by Xperimented Go to original post
Xperimented, we always welcome feedback, ALWAYS. But there is a difference between "trolling feedback" and "constructive feedback". You'll see some threads getting deleted every now and then, but that's because we want to keep this community as positive and fun as we can, both for the players AND employees. If you don't like something about the game, TELL US! If the reason is "I don't like it because it's stupid!", well, that's not feedback we can take to the Developers. But if the reason is "I don't like this aspect because it's too hard/easy" or "This aspect could have been done better. Here are my ideas...", that feedback is awesome! And we really appreciate the time you take letting us know your thoughts about our games.
You guys are awesome and I think I can speak for our whole staff here when I say, we <3 you. And we're here. We're always here.

A lot of the complaining is coming from the "mapping community". As a mapper, I haven't complained at all in regards to the three things you have posted. Much of the complaints come from other things like not having a functional lobby system (custom lobbies), no MP IGE and having only 5 vs 5 in multiplayer. FC3 was a big letdown for us and the forums are our way of telling Ubisoft what we want. We're pretty much unified (mapping community) in what we want. Back in August 2014 someone (I believe maxpower?) created a thread outlining the things we need for the mapping community. Very specific and to the point, as was everyone else who responded. One of the forum managers responded with a "We'll pass this on the developers" message. Not only did they didn't listen, they took out MP IGE all together. So you have an entire "mapping community" that delivers a simple "want" list and then this. The complaining you're talking about is the aftermath of Ubisoft not listening. People who are passionate about the game (mapping community), who get ignored are going to express themselves. I've rambled enough. Hope this sheds light on the subject. Maybe we need a bumper sticker that reads, "It's a mapping thing, you wouldn't understand".Originally Posted by Far_Cry2_Fan Go to original post
Since you seem to be actively responding to peoples complaints on these forums, answer this. Was the co-op inteded to only save for the host and not the friend that joined? or is that simply a bug?Originally Posted by xMiiSTY Go to original post
This is the response I'm looking for as well. Please shed some light on this subject Ubisoft.Originally Posted by xFragsz Go to original post
I think I can address this a bit. First, I wouldn't call it "complaining" really. When you ask for a feature and it doesn't get implemented, it makes you upset. We've all been playing video games for a while now... believe me, I completely understand where you're coming from.Originally Posted by Shinyt4pestry71 Go to original post
It's not that the Developers "don't listen", because they do. But not everything that the community asks for is possible to manage or they don't have the time to implement it within the game. I'm not sure if you heard/saw or not, but Alex Hutchinson said something along the lines of, "We're listening, we always listen. We don't have multiplayer in the IGE, but we're adding co-op in a future update. And we haven't given up on adding multiplayer either." That's a good sign, right?
I could say a ton more, but I'll keep it short.![]()

I appreciate your feedback regarding my complaints. I'm a very passionate fan of the series, but the "mapping side" of the game is where that is coming from. The FC2 editor and lobby system provided me and others with some great gaming experiences. I stuck thru FC3 all the way up until about a few months ago. Myself and a few others were all that was left making maps (XBOX 360). But as with any tough situation, you hope for better days with the next installment in the series. It's such an easy request. Model the lobby systems like FC2 and all is forgiving. The good ole' days would be back. Full lobbies, thousands or hundreds of thousands of maps created and above all a mapping community that will keep the game and franchise alive for years too come (Look at FC2). I feel that the letdown/delay of FC4 MP IGE will/already has fractured this vibrant community to the breaking point. I could simply leave this franchise and move on, but I'm still holding out hope. Please (I beg) let them know we are the most passionate gamers this franchise has ever had. I have personally spent thousands of hours of my time creating/playing maps. One simple fix and I promise you that I will gladly purchase FC4 and continue to play the game I enjoy the most. Thanks for your time on this matter.Originally Posted by xMiiSTY Go to original post
