I really love the Far Cry series and have been a big fan since the beginning. But playing Far Cry 4 I am wondering if the series is not going slightly in a wrong direction. I am talking about all the cluttered HUD, the see through walls, the glowing boxes, bodies and extreme number of gems hidden all over the map. It just feels like a themepark more then a real place. Maybe it started to happen in Far Cry 3 already, but I did not notice that and I loved that game. The reason was that I played it on PC and there was a tweak out there that made it possible to remove all that HUD clutter and handholding stuff (no glowing bodies or see through walls or "marking" of enemies. Basically the tweak made it so no HUD at all was in the game (a little problematic when doing the quick time events since you could not see the button prompts). But it did make the game great, and I loved the immersion in it.
Now with part 4 I have not seen a tweak yet to get rid of this stuff, and the developer seems so far attached from the community of Far Cry 3 that made this tweak so they could not even include an option in the game now to remove these stuff. There is a huge list of options for the HUD,but not to remove the most essential stuff. Just unbeliviable.
But since I cant remove it, I like this game far less then Far Cry 3 and this makes me see the direction the series is starting to go in, more casual and "gamey". I feel less like I am in a real place, it is more about checking the cluttered map for the next glowing thing to run to.
