    Crossplatform Extremes/Ninjas

What I am proposing in this thread is in no way an original idea. However, I have wanted to give my views on this somewhat "hushed" topic for quite a while now so here goes.

First I’d like to talk a little about track central. The layout, quite frankly, is silly. No feed should need more than 1 tile. The fact that the Uplay feed uses up 4 spaces doesn't make people more likely to choose it. This is not an advertising board, you don't need to try to sell us certain areas on track central over others. Give each section ONE square and you will find yourselves with a lot more room to add additional feeds.

That leads me on nicely to my first suggestion on the thread: The "Ninja" Section. This section will be featured alongside the other difficulties and although the tracks inside this section will be labelled as a lower difficulty (Extreme or hard usually), they will in fact be ninja tracks (I'm not suggesting "Ninja" as an actual difficulty rating). This new ninja section will not just be for any old track that has the word “ninja” in the name, however. Only the best ninja tracks will be chosen for this section.

The other key feature of this new section is that it will include tracks from ALL platforms (i.e. the section will be exactly the same on each platform). This means that any track found in this section will be worthy of cross platform. These tracks will be ported in the exact same way that Uplay tracks are done with the exception that they WILL NOT BE FEATURED ON UPLAY. The reason being that one of the arguments used against adding ninja tracks to Uplay is that they should be playable by the majority, not just the 1%. 1-2 tracks would be added to the feed per week at the same time as the Uplay picks tracks.

There are many ninja’s tracks out there that are as good, if not better than some of the tracks in the Uplay feed that currently aren’t getting the recognition they deserve due to your silly rules on crossplatforming ninja tracks. This suggestion would change all of that without compromising the current Uplay Feed.

Essentially, the new feed can be viewed as the Uplay feed for advanced players to enjoy. At the end of the day, the people playing extreme/ninja tracks are (for the most part) the people who have been with you the longest, and will probably be with you longer than any of the players within the skill range that you are saying should be able to play tracks on the Uplay feed. Anyone willing to play trials long enough will eventually get to a level where they may be interested in playing this difficulty of track…. Anyone else will quit trials long before they achieve this level of skill. So PLEASE stop punishing your core players. We are a much bigger community than you guys seem to think we are.

Also, just in case you guys actually take any notice of this thread, I’d like to suggest a few tracks that I feel would be worthy of being on this new feed, and would be a nice start to the feed.

    Ascension (Ninja) – Xbox One
    Prospector – Xbox One
    Spherious – PS4
    Templosive – PS4
    Freezing Point – PC

(will finish this list off when I get home and can actually see track names)

Just to clarify in case anyone missed the point of the new feed, Taking the 5 tracks above as an example of the feed, these tracks would be available within the new "ninja" feed on ALL platforms, meaning that crossplatforming tracks will be required. The tracks would however, ONLY show on the new "ninja" feed and would NOT be added to the Uplay Feed.

Feel free to show your support (or lack of) and make suggestions to tracks that you feel are worthy of being on this new proposed feed.

    Thanks

The way our agreements work is that cross-platform tracks ARE in the Uplay Recommended feed. That's where cross-platform tracks go.

We have ideas for Ninja tracks, but they will not likely be made crossplatform in their own special feed.

Well perhaps its time to arrange a new agreement.

There are plenty of ninjas across all all platforms that are of the same quality as those chosen to be uplay picks. It is a huge shame that those tracks are not getting to be played by what is arguably the biggest consistent community on trials. I understand that you guys have "plans" for ninja tracks but if those plans don't include some crossplatform tracks then i dont see how it will be any better than it is right now.

I can't find the post where Bluebadger (I think) was explaining it but only 1% of players (if my memory is correct) are able to finish ninja tracks.

You can pull whatever stays you want and use it as an excuse not to do something, that doesn't change the fact that the people who CAN beat ninja maps are the player that have been playing your game the longest, as well as being the people who will carry on playing into the future. Any new players that dont give up on the game will eventually be able to beat these maps also. Dont punish your long-term players due to statistics that is pulling data from players that play the game for a week and then never play again.

The majority of REGULAR players probably CAN play these maps. Maybe not beating them right away but you know... Some of us enjoy a challenge...

We also take care of the core community (streams, ninja in extrems, etc...) but porting tracks accross platforms is not something that we can do as it's highly time consuming.

Just wanna throw my 20 cents on this thread, also I think I've a good idea for this problem..

If I build a track that has a chance to be in the crossplatform feed, and then I put an easter egg who leads to a ninja level 1/2/3/4/5 version of the track. Does it still have a chance to be in this feed ?

So like that casual players can complete the normal version, and for those who seek challenge, the ninja version is there

    Hi,

I even think it's something that has been done in the past.

    Cheers,

Yes, I believe K8 machete aka Kalzone did it on PS4 and got featured.

Find a track that does challenges and places ninja obstacles in place of original lines that were easier in the tracks section. I am sure if some people have tracks on the feed they might have that some what additional extra in there.

But I do believe ninja tracks have gone in the feed before.
