Do a search on the forums and you will find there are several people with this issue, including me!
There are several solutions but so far the only one that have been verified to work is to re-start the uplay client several times so its fully patched, then verify the FC4 game files. This will then re-download the entire game, all 32gbs worth. I am currently waiting for it to re-download so i can test it out. Unfortunately due to house renovations i can only connect via dodgy wi-fi so its going to take me 60+ hours to download. It had better bloody work this time!
Any other verified solutions are much appreciated.
I have also contacted UBI support. They are very very slow in response. Not good enough.

I'm glad it's not just me with this problem...every time I try to launch V 0.1.0.1 (seen in event viewer), the game tries to install DirectX, VCRedist, & .net framework. It seems to complete these steps but after about 5 seconds gives the error.Originally Posted by Technophebe Go to original post
People say the game is supposed to patch on launch...but with their 3rd patch releasing tomorrow, mine hasn't even patched once yet!
After reading your comments on verifying game files & having to redownload the ENTIRE game, and being presented with the same problem, I probably won't redownload. Not least because it took me 2 days to download it the 1st time.
I've even tried rolling back the Nvidia drivers to the previous version, that didn't work. I guess there's not much to do until they patch again...if it actually gets pushed through to the UK Uplay service this time
EXACTLY the same thing is happening to me. I see steps 1/3 and 2/3 the pop up disappears, then a short while later i get the 00005 error. I'm wondering perhaps step 3/3 is not running correctly and that is what is causing the issue.Originally Posted by J_Darcy Go to original post

As a side note: the DirectX, VCRedist, & .Net Framework installers contained in the game directory (e.g. Far Cry 4 / Support / Software) return errors when I try to use them. Is this the same for you?
Yup, one of the first things i tried was going in and manually running the directx, etc programs. Same issue, get an error when i try and run them
Everything else is running fine, including all my other Uplay titles. I've not had a problem like this running a game for years!
I will post back and let you know how the re-download goes. Hopefully the new patches might also fix the problem.
