So far I have lost count how many times I have stopped to stare at a vista, or the beautiful landscape but more than that, I have been stopped in my tracks by other things that happen in this great game.
1. I was entering a shirpa (sp?) camp high in the hills with the telltale tinkering sound from the Shirpas backpack when I noticed he had company, his wife or another female traveller. All of a sudden the woman gets up and yells and runs off, alarmed I followed her to suddenly see a Tiger leap out of the bushes and attack her! I was too slow to save her but I did manage to shoot dead the Tiger, of course I skinned it then picked up the lady's body and took it to her partner who had returned to the camp. I put the body at his feet and all of a sudden he sits down next to her and starts to cry !! I felt so sorry for the guy that I hunted down every Tiger in the area!!
2. I was hunting wild pigs when all of a sudden an eagle swoops down with a shriek and picks the pig I had in my sights up and carries it off !! I quickly adjusted my sights and shot a burst of LMG at the Eagle and down came the feathered nuisance, pig and all! I skinned both, shook my head in RL and continued on!
3. I sat and watched with great interest at a pair of elephants splashing around in a lake squirting water over themselves and having a good time, and the gorgeous vista with the reflection of the dawn mirrored apon it when all of a sudden I noticed a group of enemy vehicles coming along the road. Quickly I scouted around and noticed a gun emplacement not far from my location, I scrambled to it just as the 50 cals on the back of their vehicles opened up firing at me, I jumped onto the MG and killed each guy on the back manning the guns then shot at the alarmed soldiers leaping out of the vehicles, it was all over within 30 seconds along with an achievement! Right place at the right time?
Tell me yours, and please no trolling (It was when I got the game working hahaahah) etc posts please, lets keep this positive!
I heard someone shouting for help and ran over to see two guys cowering behind their truck on a roadside, being dive-bombed by a rather aggrivated black eagle. I managed to pick it off, and one of them walks out from behind the truck and says "Whew, thank goodness you came along, I thought I was done for!"
One second later a passing minivan runs him over.![]()
haha, that reminded me of this scene from rush hour.Originally Posted by Psyradragon Go to original post

i was doing a mission when all of the sudden an enemy with some intel appears on a ATV, i had to kill him before he left with the intel so i reached for my bow, i had one shot so i took my time, i aimed through my marksman sight, took a deep breath and at 60 meters away i got him with a head shot while he was pulling away in the ATV, i could barely see him when i took the shot, but as soon as i saw the headshot icon on the screen i felt like a boss![]()
Marksman award of the week go's to youOriginally Posted by icedstar Go to original postI found even with the recurve bow it is still easier sometimes to use the non-marksman sight as it turns red when it is pointed at the unfortuneate creature you are about to impale but for longer shots the marksman sight is quite useful, even if it is hard to judge how far away they are from you.
Loving this game as well. My WTF moments:
1. Courier came by on an ATV while I was crossing a road. I was hunting on food. I took cover and with no way of going after him I let him be. At the same time a golden path vehicle passes him turns around and starts after him. I think well have fun while I continue going West While the road went south.
After a bit of running through the forest I come to cliff and below me another road and there he is the Courier, dead flat faced on the pavement and my Golden path Buddies standing there victorious. I am like awesome lets grab that loot for the XP. Then my golden Path buddies get attacked by a pack of Dholes. I try to save them but too late. Kill of the last few muts and take loot the courier info.
What I especially liked about this that in many other games if anything goes too far away from you it just disappears. Not in this game! That little story kept unfolding even without my presence.
2. I am again walking through the forest when I come to one of the main rivers when I see one of Pagan's min guys Dead at the river edge. I am like okay... what is going on here. I scout and see a group of pigs. Scouting a bit more I then notice Tiger stalking the pigs very slowly until he was close enough for the kill! Awesome like being in a wildlife documentary. Unfortunately the pigs ran my way and didn't take too long for him to notice me.
3. I was hunting Yaks deep in to enemy territory to get some upgrades. While I kill some Yaks I alert some nearby enemies who all though not being able to see me yet come my direction. What I did not know was however that they also had Mortars which they keep shooting to try and flush me out. Bit panicked as it was the first time I encounter Mortar I am considering running away when suddenly a truck of Golden Paths join in. They start blasting and I quickly join in. We get the upper hand and we are about to kill their last soldier when a tiger comes out of nowhere kills the soldier in one hit and then jumps one 1 of my 2 golden path buddies. I open fire on the tiger and try to swing around the car to kill him right before he mauls the last female golden path member. We kill it and it hits the ground right before her feet.
Things like this make it very immersive as they first helped me out of a pickle and then I save their asses (well one of) from a tiger.
There are many other moments like falling in to a cave and stumbling on long dead body and some loot to great fire fights that really makes you feel like your are at war. I also like to sit around some of the water edges. Today I saw a tiger coming to take a drink from the river and then moving off to stalk some wildlife. Makes it feel alive.
My best moment was my first death.
I was on my way to a bell tower (Sabal's first mission) and after taking some fall damage, I came toe-to-toe with a honey badger. I had to forgotten to refill ammo so I was all empty, but knifing a tiny honey badger couldn't be too hard, right? Wrong. So here I am, running away from the tiny hellspawn, screen black and white from so little health, and no way to heal since it was so close behind and I had no syringes. Suddenly I see my salvation! One of those chill sherpa dudes was just hanging out on the road. Since I knew I could buy medicine and guns from him I ran towards him. I was only 2 meters away when a civilian car came out of nowhere and absolutely wiped the floor with him... I stopped to take in what the hell I'd just witnessed, which let the honey badger catch up, and maul me to death. Pretty humiliating if you ask me :P
