Suggestion for idea sharing
I posed a question in another thread and it was suggested to open it up as a suggestion thread to get feedback.
Basically what I was asking isn’t available but maybe in the future such a thing may be possible, I wanted to know if there was a way to download tracks online and then load them up to be edited on your own console as if you made it.
From that though I thought rather than it being seen as stealing other peoples work that for example project spark have a system that shows the originator of the level so they get the acknowledgement for good work, I believe that something like that would push forward the knowledge and understanding of newbie creators as they get hands on examples they could use in their own work, maybe not an ideal solution but something I think would be beneficial in my humble opinion, if track sharing isn’t viable then maybe some form of being able to showcase examples of more advanced stuff that can be put straight into the level (I know you could watch you tube examples but this would just be another way to achieve this)
Maybe it’s a flawed idea but I would like to know peoples thoughts on this.

I can see the established builders lining up with their work, to be passed onto anyone and altered to their own means, blatantly ripping off the original ideas and work. Actually I can't.
I don't build but I wouldn't want my work ripped off, with just a small acknowledgement to show for it.
To be influenced by certain builders' work and to make your own stuff in a similar style to others is preferable, I would say.
The best advice would be to get friendly with the community and it's builders, ask for help or tips. Most guys I would imagine would be willing to help out with any queries/problems you may have. Are you on the Bone? You can add people and see how they build on streams, and such.

Hi thanks for the reply, yeah I am on XBONE, Personally I always look online for videos etc if I am stuck and have asked a few questions on here as well, as I say the idea may not be the best it was just a passing thought with many positives and negatives I am sure.

No probs, mate. Best of luck with your building. If you make anything let me know, I'll check your work out.

Believe me this wouldn't be as beneficial as it may sound. Despite all of the obvious flaws in this plan (plagiarism etc.), complex logic is VERY overwhelming when viewed as a whole without any knowledge of how it was built. You learn next to nothing by looking at it. Heck, even when you do create something yourself, its VERY easy to forget how it works if you come back to it after a prolonged period of time.
If you really want to learn, I would recommend learning from scratch. If you don't learn the basics of logic, you will never be able to receive help for complex logic and be able to modify it to your own needs without someone holding your hand through the entire process (and no one really wants that).
