After having installed the game and run the "Verify game files" a few times I still get a crash to desktop when I start the game.
Windows 8.1, up to date drivers on graphics card (GTX 770), no other usb devices besides Logitech G19 keyboard and G500 mouse.
Any tips for getting the game to run?
Hey guys,
Best course of action at the moment would be to put in a ticket to our support system. The guys and gals there should be able to help diagnose what is causing the crash.
Here is the link to our support: http://support.ubisoft.com
I'm having the same issue. Press New Game, it get half way through the loading bar and then FATAL ERROR.. All I seem to be able to find in the way of help from Ubisoft is the generic "Open a ticket" response!? We're are not your QA Dept! We are your customers. If one or two people were having issues I'd say fair enough but it seems a large percentage of people who have brought this "title" are experiencing game breaking issues and are getting little in the way of support.... Bad show Ubisoft, you should be ashamed that this game was launched in this state
I'm on Windows 7 64 with an HD 7970 running driver 14.301.1006.0. When I try to load it installs directx, vcredist and .NET Framework and then immediately crashes saying "Far Cry 4 has stopped working.
I got this:
Immediately followed by this:
And that's it just paid that much money for a nice little Windows form here. What's next ?
PS: just saw that repairing told me some files are corrupt. Trying to repair but I doubt it will help. Why repair a fresh installation ?
EDIT: Repair finished and started redownloading the whole 31gb of the game...

I am no longer surprised. I had the exact same problems with Far Cry 3 and Watchdogs. It has become a habit of Ubisoft to disappoint its clients. You want to get it released faster and here's what you get out of it. You'll just drop customers. I would have thought such a big company would reason more intelligently. I guess I tend to overrate you. Smartness ain't part of your business.
I'm not talking about the devs because it's probably not their fault. It's usually pressure coming from the top ones that need the product out for the date mentioned even if full of bugs. Know what ? Most of us would so much better love reading a post on your forums saying "Sorry we had to delay the release of our game due to soem technical difficulties." instead of always having bad surprises. What you do not realize is that whatever you do you keep postponing the actual relesae of your games. You just call your alphas and betas a release.
You may have found your way to go over it and keep succeeding this far. But some day you will start feeling it.
I know what I'm saying will not make you think further than what you're used to and even make you laugh saying "Hey look at this new stupid guy out there.". Well I don't care. Personally I'm giving you one last chance here. If this doesn't get globally solved quick I'm done participating to Ubisoft's unfair / unearned success.
Cheers
