    5.1 Audio Support for PC

    Hi,

I'm using Sound Blaster Zx on Win 8.1 Pro 64-bit.
It seems, this AAA title does not have audio surround support. Am I right?!

I think so. Working audio on my 2.1 speakers but 7.1 headset has no audio after the splash screens at the beginning.

Watchdogs has the exact same issue!

    See this thread below...

    http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...o-sound-Forums

If you have a SoundBlaster it looks like updating you drivers "may fix the issue" (look in the thread above, last page)

If on the other hand you have RealTek there is no solution as of yet!

The problem seems to be RealTek->XAudio2->Optical->5.1. See below for more details

PS: I've tired the HEX edit fix in the link above & it has no effect.

This is such a bunch of crap! Ubi should know about this and work around it somehow. Watchdogs has same issue. Guess what.. FC3 works fine! They should have used whatever they did in FC3 then until M$ fixed XAudio. WTF.

    FC4 no sound

I am having similar issues- after the opening video (when Pagan gets into the Heli) the sound goes. Completely silent after. Gameplay is still fine, but no sound.

No matter how many drivers I have updated I can't get sound. I've tried deleting it and downloading again- hopefully that will work.

See my post in the thread below......................it's what I've done/got/running......................can't say positively it's true 5.1, but it sure sounds like any of my other recent games on my system. Great positional audio, and quality sound.

Seems like any AAA tiltle would have built in multi channel support, given the prevalence of onboard chip, or discrete sound cards in PCs. WTF.....................as they say!

Same issue here using a Asus Z97 motherboard with integrated Realtek audio, both over HDMI through the TV to my receiver and directly to the receiver using optical output. I'm going to try making it 2.1 instead of 5.1 when I get home but this is an absolute show stopper, both with the campaign as well as PVP.

Easy to get it working.. just switch output to 2 channel on your audio device in windows.. But then you get 2 channel stereo. That sucks.

I guess I am going to hook up my Nvidia HDMI out directly to receiver and see if I can get 5.1 working through Nvidia HDMI audio. Right now as it is I have optical cable from audio card on mobo going to receiver. works great most of the time except lately on damned ubisoft games. Works fine in FC3! But then again, lots of things work great in FC3 that do not in FC4.

Not is you have a DTS/ Dolby digital sound card hooked up to a receiver via optical cable. I guess you might have it if you have some Creative sound card or something.
