Ubisoft..you booped up...but I love you anyway. An alternative way to play: Far Cry 4

O.k [amendment]; the reason to go through all of this nonsense: is tougher, more immersive systemic gunfights, see. You need to not be able to see your enemies on the radar for that.

That's what I thought Far Cry 3 did better than any other fps I've played. Hence, why I kept coming back to it, even 2 yrs on.
Anywho..I had a dvd case on it's side, to block the radar...you still need it [sigh]. It's worse though, as now you also can't see your health meter [which is below it], and you need the radar on..'cause there's no other way to retain the compass 'N' at the top.

Anyways, there's my problem and solution, in a nutshell. So you are forgiven Ubi. I can still navigate [just], by allowing a little of the top and right edge to show.

Easier than making your own sheep from a roll of toilet paper on Play Skool, although navigating via vehicle is harder as a result-which is unfortunate. I slide the dvd case to one side, to read txt when I sell stuff, otherwise; every icon's turned off, hit detectors, absolutely everything that will tell me where someone is-with dvd cases blocking the RADAR, Ubi. You already have limitless magic-heal, better A.I, and an increadible stealth advantage. Plus; your enemies telegraph everything they're 'gonna do anyway. Why do you need a magical all-seeing eye?

The key to epic gunfights..is stealth...with an AK. This is an fps, darn it.
Dart from bush to bush..even aggregates of grass [yes] blocks line-of-sight [which is like radar, or light filtering around the edges of foliage-that's how the enemies vision seemed to work n FC3]. You can stand up in bushes and be fully hidden, if it's tall enough, but everything counts.
Try it..it's how I played Far Cry 3 [on warrior-the downloadable difficulty], but as I can no longer see my health bar, I've lowered the difficulty to normal in this-as you really need to be able to take a couple of extra hits to compensate for your loss of a couple of superpowers. The key there, is to just find a balance, that feels most satisfying. I might tweak it up to hard again, then lower it to normal when I tackle the Northern part of the map [where pistol calibre rounds aren't so good]. The stealth in Far Cry 3 was amazing [I think I already said that]..it's better in this, so is the peak 'n lean. The latter's a lot more reactive/you don't have to be as close to objects, trees or corners. I'm playing on '360 btw. After stealth, using the cover system is the next most-rewarding thing as, um..I just hinted at. I 'm not exaggerating when I say; I can't play an fps without peak, now. Far Cry 3 ruined me for that.

The experience is at it's best when you play by intuition alone, using just your eyes and ears, is what I'm trying to say. Trust to the stealth, use suppression tactics [you're a one-man fire and manouvre team] and peak peak peak. Run, slide, dart..peakaboo BANG BANG.
Cooked airburst grenades suppress like nothing else. If you want action, fire a shot every now and again-see if anyone hears it.
    Airbursts are loudest.
The A.I's better, so they'll call for reinforcements..more action. I never, ever, stop them from calling for reinforcements-that's my game.
    Rambo, baby. 100%.

Everything that made the last game great is better..
...provided you have a dvd case [which I raise and lower on other cases, stabilized with a few more cases on the side-so I can slide it along, see].

    Good job Ubisoft. [cough].

    What were we talking about?
Oh yeah; It's just you, in the bush, with a machine gun..as I'm pretty sure it was always intended to be, right from the start of the Far Cry concept. Raw. It's also as close to you can get to the heights of Far Cry 2, minus any of the fustrating bits.
This is by far [doh] the best Far Cry game, even if the weapons don't jam. But I can't BELIEVE you let me turn off everything BUT the damn-radar.
Ah well..nothing mods can't fix, I guess, eventually. There is an alternative, if messy, solution now though. Which is the point of this thread.

    Ubisoft...naughty.

O.k, first real disappointment; I'm really missing the dynamic muzzle flash of FC3 on '360-that lit up interiors..each version on last-gen misses something [FC2 had the reactive foliage and best flame-that could set entire valleys ablaze, wiping out a town]...but that's where you really want it on current gen or pc: no compromise in the Dunia 2 engine, which is stunning when it's not being held back. This version has better sparks and dust from bullet impacts. Can't wait for the Rift/Omni combination..otherwise; I'd upgrade just to play this, for sure. Sigh. Still, I can't deny; I'm having loads of really unhealthy fun-and I've only just noticed that [with the muzzle flash]. I'm amazed and happy it's running it at all on '360-'cause pretty much everything related to gameplay is better, so it's running more in the background.
Anywho, just stopped playing after 13 hrs straight! Is that even legal?
