How multiplayer SHOULD have been done

First off, remove these confusing and complex game types Ubi likes to make that force team work and what not.

Second, allow up to 16 player lobbies like in FC:IP and FC:2

Third, allow custom lobbies that can change spawn counts, weapon types allowed, map rotations, etc.

Fourth, add SIMPLE game types that EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS without explanation.

    -Capture the Flag
    -Team Death Match
    -Death Match
    -King of the Hill

Other game types could be added as well, but they need to be simple WITHOUT GIMMICKS, and NOT forcing TEAM GAMEPLAY.

Lastly and certainly not least, allow CUSTOM MAPS for MULTIPLAYER.

This approach to multiplayer would save Ubisoft a lot of time and money rather than to develop these tacky gimmicky game types that fall to the wayside within a month of the game's launch when everyone decided they had enough of Ubi's poor attempt at a CoD rival.

Far Cry should have always been about letting the players make the most of everything with the map editor, and customizable host options should follow suit since it follows the map editor's creative nature.

It amazes me they spend a lot more time and resources on game modes that will be dead within a month. Earlier Far Cry titles like FC:1, FC:IP and even FC:2 had relatively simple game types and a very basic editor but the game's multiplayer lasted for years and created a community.

I agree with all of that. But in looking at how Ubisoft has treated us leading to launch, and even now, You, I, WE are holding our breath. Ubisoft has been, and will probably remain silent. They wont acknowledge your anger until after they've taken your money, apologize, and then insist you buy their next game.

    Textbook Ubisoft.

The only thing you wrote that I disagree with is complex game modes. I for one will play TDM 99.9999% of the time but I'm am ALWAYS in favor of more options. Ideally I'd like to see a game mode editor added to the game where you can make custom modes for your custom maps.

Thanks for doing that for Far Cry 3, as well.

I would add Assault and Domination game modes to your list but everything else is perfect.

I don't mind the PvP they have in the game currently but it needed to be a mode and NOT the entire offering. that added to what is above would have been perfect. with game mode variant options as well (Like 1 flag ctf for instance)

With how amazing the Map Editor is, the more options available the better. Why create such an amazing IGE then nerf the possibilities by only offering a niche, assumetrical multiplayer? Then of course removing the ability to create maps all together.

None of it makes sense and just highlights how disjointed the dev cycle actually was with FC4 and no doubt a result of so many studios working on a game that was then sewn together at the end.

Patch in the basic multiplayer modes that have been mentioned and give us a 16-24 player multiplayer mode and you will sell more copies.

I agree, complex game modes don't work. In FC3, most nubs don't even understand transmission or domination, and forget about firestorm. THOSE games were EASY. I also think the class based teams is the most appalling mistake yet. So when you win or lose, you can't really say you did. You either had a handicap or advantage because the teams are not and never will be equal. There is now NO POSSIBLE way to play a team in a fair and balanced way... just terrible. This will never work for tournaments or competitive game play... SHAME SHAME.

I agree, this is not MP we want to play. I bought game because FC3 MP was awesome. I expected better in FC4 but its becomes much worse.
