I think the method that Jolan talked about is pretty solid, with checking to make sure that the bike is always on screen. This should take only a few tool cards, and maybe a couple filters. I'll definitely get back to you guys this weekend once I figure out if it's possible on not. I'm gonna use my second trash account to release some tests
Also kid, when you're making tracks how do you get the driving lines to fit so well together? Do you do the driving line first, and then fill in décor, or do you do it place section by section? I tried to make crash county section by section, letting the décor determine the driving line, but I ran into some problems.
its different every time . most times i just get a bit on line going say 15 seconds . then try some backgrounds . or what i do mostly if i cant get a theme going is go in an empty mapworld and just make things like girders and boxes and machines . then go back and try them on the line . . most tracks aswell if i get stuck near the end is move the start line backwards and add more line to the start instead of the end . on wasteland the line on that track is two lines i had going and nether were working and being wasted so i glued them together . like i say i try anything . but i never let decor determine the line as such .if it becomes a problem i just group the decor and move and adjust it to fit because im the boss . x
That's a great idea, moving the start back, I'd never thought about that.
I get stumped too when I'm trying to think of ideas to integrate lines and décor (with my Skillgames though, I can always skimp on the décor; Super cheap)
Haha the boss of my own map. True, I shouldn't let the map control me.
Thanks for all the advice! I really appreciate it.

The main thing that bothered me from the start was we will be able to see where most of the hidden things are, thus spoiling challenges, achievements and for what creators do, but as visual it looks great but also spoils the illusion that people create when making cool and unique stuff.
I feel there are more cons than pros to this replay camera feature, but what is done, is done.
That's just my 2 cents but that's the way I feel about it, it spoils too much for me.

I worked on this feature and we had this discussion. We made the decision to go on with that because it's up to the player to know if he wants to use it that way or not.
There is no difference in looking for a challenge by using the new camera replay or by trying to find it on Youtube.
But if a player wants to find the challenge by himself ("traditional way"), it's up to him to not use the camera replay for that.
As the feature is not forcing the player into finding challenges/squirrels that way, we decided it wouldn't be a problem.
For the "spoil the illusion", other players already answered and it's quite close to the discussion we had about that internally.
Cheers,
And how do you feel about the illusion on your own tracks, just out of curiosity?
No I know 'we' don't want to spoil certain things for that aspect but I dunno it just bugs me that now people will know what we've used just because of the illusion can be seen now. It kinda does ruin it to some creators but to some it won't bother. It can be set as double standards also... it can be quite saddening to some creators, it does me but that's me. I take pride in subtle detail and if people notice it I want them to still be intrigued and get close for a proper look for it, not go in and go ahhhh! Mystery solved instantly.
Yes people can do things the traditional way, cool good for them with the props and all that. But don't get me wrong, I love the concept of it too En0, it can be made to use awesome screenshots of a track and you can see the stuff up close also. Like I wanna go see Light City Run and look around, certain tracks would be cool to see how the devs do things also.

The discussion inside the team has been the same as the one you had on the forum. Some track creators were annoyed by the idea, others were enthusiastic. But I believe they were mostly enthusiastic.
Cheers,

The intended reason was to give a tool to players for them to be able to make some content more viral and showcase their creations. There are a lot of creative people in the community who produce content. We wanted to give unlock more what they could do with and around the game.
The selfie simulator was not directly a part of it (it's two initiatives in parallel), but Shogun was aware of the camera replay and I was aware of the selfie simulator. Also, when the selfie simulator has been shared, we looked at it to help us to polish the camera replay. The feature itself has nothing really original (you find it in a lot of games, especially X1/PS4 (Shadow of mordor, InFamous Second Son... I think the last Forza added the same feature also, Far Cry 4 has a photograph mode where you can remove the hud of the camera...).
I think that the new consoles emphased the "sharing" mecanism in video games (Twitch integration, PS4 share, the X1 has a video montage tool I think?). It goes with the usage of the players and what we see in the digital world. I wouldn't be surprise if it would be kind of a must have features for a lot of types of games in a near future. It just made a lot of sense for Fusion because, as the rest of the tools in game, it aims to empower creative users and give them a chance to be showcased.
