I am talking about an egoistic argument, that has nothing to do with taking time to create tracks for others. And I highly doubt the only reason why most people build is for others, mainly it's because you enjoy building yourself. I'm repeating myself, but I hardly doubt alot of people will really use the option to go around and look around every track. And why not give the option for people who are interested to see something you build in your track?Originally Posted by kidmpc Go to original post
And don't get me wrong, I was on the fence about this too at first. But ultimatly it doesn't take anything away from the illusion while you play a track.
yea but thats your perception of the argument .of course it has something to do with the builder . its his opinion and your saying because he cant vent his opinion hes egoistical. i could say your argument and defence is egotistical . because you love redlynx whatever they do . i could use other words but i wont .Originally Posted by bassline001 Go to original post
heres a treat for you bassline
oh and im by no means implying tracks in a game are great movies or track makers directiors . just the image

I find those pictures actually interesting instead of them ruining something. It shows how you can be fooled by an artist. You don't have to see the images to know it's not real.Originally Posted by kidmpc Go to original post
I watch channels on youtube like "cinemasins" (wich points out flaws in movies) or "screen junkies" (wich mostly laughs with movie plots). That doesn't mean I can't enjoy the movies anymore. (those channels are hilarious btw, so I recommend checking them out xD)
And again, I'm not saying venting your opinion is egoistical, I'm saying the argument itself is. And I seriously don't get why you keep thinking I agree with everything RL does...I have said several times that it shouldn't have been released in this state, that it was still beta on launch and in the process killed evo because alot of people switched, and I made several other posts/suggestions of things that should be improved. It's not because I don't complain about every new feature I am happy with everything, but I can only complain so much before I repeat myself over and over, wich is useless in my opinion. I want it to be a good game like everyone else, but like most, I understand that with the way they planned the evolution of the game we need to be patient for that. More complaining isn't going to speed up the process, so I try to stay constructive when I can.
I'm still lost as to why you say it is an egotistical argument. Is it because the illusion is one's own, and they don't care about other people's illusions? Or because the person thinks their illusion is best, and cannot be broken?
Either way, I've decided to accept this new feature as it does limit itself to how far you can "explore" and because I'm having a h*** of a lot of fun peeking around Redlynx tracks.
I still felt bad though after I used the free cam to explore KushLand's new track. It was cool to see the inner workings, and playing it normally still created the illusion of a fleshed out world (his tracks are always awesome), but I felt like I was intruding into his workspace. Which is why I got really concerned when I read someone suggesting that tool cards should be visible. I'm not against helping people out with logic, I'll give anyone a hand who wants it, but for anyone to just go in and see my algorithms, whether they understand it or not, seems too much of an invasion of space for me.
Of course, this isn't part of the feature, and I for one hope it never becomes part of the free cam replay mode. As it stands now, I think it's fine.
...I'm still going to hide everything underneath terrain modes though (I'm putting on my crazy-conspiracy hat)
Also nice fine JolanXBL!

it was me bog and it was a joke about the toolcard being visible . but i wouldnt be shocked if it was priorityOriginally Posted by pneumaticbog484 Go to original post
i agree i find them interesting . but they never were available for a long time and when the director was ready and comfortable to show . not instant access straight away 30 seconds later . . most probably because the director wanted to keep his mystique and illusion for you to savour . then later adds something for the fans who are interested in that stuff .Originally Posted by bassline001 Go to original post
Nobody is better than anyone but to suggest that what someones values at what they think is their best asset is lesser than what someone else values as thier best asset is in my opinon a wrong philosophy to have. If kidmpc values his decor the same as bog values his logic then why is this ok to be stripped naked.
Agreed bog you spend hours on your logic but im not sure having the opinion that what you value is any better than whats someone else put their own value on i think your being alittle big headed. I agree it would be unfair to show your logic so why do you think that its ok to show what someone else is good at. Mpc decor is by far a step above your as your logic is with most creatos so your no better than any other builder whos highest value is in their decor. The reason for topics and discussions like these are to see other people points of view and if you cant see that some people hold what they do in the same value as you hold what you do yet thats ok to be tripped bare and show to the world.
There is proof that this feature is not really the best option to do with a newly built track. The proof is and its one people have forgot to take into account. Take alook at the example tracks and you will find no stupid backgrounds and parts that look like a scrapyard. everything is neatly trimmed and kept in order. All logic is more or less in order. There is not one thing behind the track that looks like its just fell off something. ITs tidy , neat and everything put away.
If this feature is so good then why was it not in the game from start one simpke reason
It cheapens the track and the career mode would not have been as effective if we could see behin the scenes. Our tracks should be treated with the same respect. The idea is fun but after time has past and the actual tracks has gone off track central.
Just because some things are held in high value to one person dosnt mean that what anyone else holds in high value should be ripped apart because they simply think its not as imporant as there own. Some views are alittle onesided and are not taking into account others people views.
As fun as taking the camera for a tour around tracks may be and one which should be done after a certain amount of time has passed this feature does nothing more than cheapen ones track. Thats the simple reason it was not embedded into the game from the begining. If people saw how pants the tracks actually looked , it would have been laughed at as a game
Where i am from peoples rubbish stinks the same , if some people think that their rubbish is better than the next , then your in for big surprisein life
Oooohhh, I see your post in the news section now. Hahaha I'm clueless to sarcasm on the internet.Originally Posted by kidmpc Go to original post

Loved your newest track by the way @Kid m p c!
Edit 1:
I'm also thinking about testing some ways to hamper this new free cam mode using the method Jolan came up with. If I find a way to disable the free cam mode I'll be sure to make a thread about it on the level editor section.
great news from the master. hope u share it if u figure it out . ive already thought of this but im not good at clever stuff .Originally Posted by pneumaticbog484 Go to original post
