Can't believe how backwards this development team thinks. Stripping away a STAPLE of your 10 YEAR FRANCHISE is just unbelievable.
These guys also have the nerve to charge Day 1 DLC.
As a player of the original Far Cry and Far Cry Instincts/Predator on Xbox (check my join date), this is extremely disappointing news. Safe to say I'll never be buying another Ubisoft product for the rest of my life.
I guess I was in the minority here that actually didn't care about MP, but I didn't play the MP of any FC game before 3 so that may just be because of their bad implementation. I only ever used the editor to make single player stuff, and it looks like that area is being expanded so I'm still hyped up.
This really ruined my winter. What am I supposed to do during the cold New England nights now? Why have a map editor without the MP option. If they decide to add it I might buy it. But Far Cry is just not that good of a game by itself. Lets be honest, you take away the ability to design your own multiplayer map and what do you have... just another mediocre shooter. There are some real idiots in charge of decision making in a lot of todays video game developers and Ubisoft is no exception. Crash and Burn.

Folks, starting with Far Cry 3 the map editor has gone downhill......faaar downhill. Ubi doesn't hate you, they just don't give a crap about a loyal fanbase. They're going for profits here (unfortunately), and trying to make a triple A story-type game. Unfortunately the story is a copy/paste scenario on FC3, but with gimmicks and smoke screens, relying on hype to carry them to AAA gold. Ride-able elephants?.....please. That gimmick looks annoying and useless, and yet they said in a gameplay reveal trailer that they spent A LOT of money to get that mechanic to work. Co-Op?....hardly.....you can't progress through the story with a friend, only take over outposts and do little "side quests".......maybe SOME co op is better than NO co op, but is it? Is it, if they spent a lot of time trying to make that system work, only to over-hype that it's a co op campaign? This whole series is getting to be a washed out version of what it once was. Everytime a new FC game gets released, I find myself here on the forums re-living a terrible deja vu nightmare.
Keep it all in one thread. Thanks.
