    Error code 0x70000053

    I have searched google and this site and there are "0" total matches.. I get this whenever I try to open a chest.. what does it mean?

    Which type of chests are you trying to access? Regular, Locked, Nomad, or Initiates?

    I'm not sure, it shows up on the minimap as a gold colored chest

    initiates I think, the new initiates emblem has appeared above the chest, with a "I" in the middle, I'm assuming rank 1 initiates.. which I am

    update: also now getting the error when trying to open the initiates menu option

    That is an initiates chest. When you first load up the game, it should say press Y or Triangle to access initiates. If you have previously linked your Uplay and Initiates profiles, then you will be logged in. Additionally, you can try to access Initiates from the pause menu.

    However, there may be a connectivity issue with Initiates right now that we are looking into. Those chests won't block your progress in game, but thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Please try to connect your account and let us know if you sill have this issue.

    Thank you for the information, and thank you very much for the quick response

    update: I have linked the two, but that was right off the bat, this issue seems to have disconnected me from the service. I will continue to try regularly and will report when it is working as intended.
    not yet working but code has changed to "0x8000000d"

    I can confirm that Initiates is currently down. You will not be able to access your profile and you cannot access chests. We will update you when it is back online or try checking in the morning.

    Can't play Co-Op, can't even log into Uplay from in-game menu. "Error Code 0x70000053"
