lets not repeat the FC3 scenario

Looking throught all the forum post in here and responses, I am surprised how cynical most are already.
Nobody on this forum has played a second of FC4 yet, we only seen lots of single/coop player trailers. Most look beautiful btw.

Sure I would like to know much much more of the multiplayer / PvP modes. The editor, which I love. What will come next in season pass.

Judging from the huge amount of info given, but only bare minimum of PvP info. Ubisoft has clearly chosen (again) that the PvP is only a minor aspect of their game.
They've chosen NOT to make a huge multiplayer/PvP game (like COD, Battlefield, Destiny etc), but big emphasis all on the open world for SINGLE/COOP play.
They dont want to compete in the mass-multiplayer area with other big titles ...

You can hate them for this.
But screaming about it, and writing all and only cynical posts, will only result in same thing what happened with FC3. Ubisoft will abandon all further work, discontinue any new patch or work they had in mind, and move to any other project. Why shouldn't they?
Because they already got our money. Also many will buy it anyway. The huge majority don't even care about PvP and just love the open world. Just as FC3. We are the minority of all the people who buy FC4.
I read somewhere almost 4 million! people bought FC3 in past. Even in the beginning of FC3 I never say more then few hunderd people in multiplayer lobbies. Now it will be same. And lets face it, Ubisoft wont make more money when you play PvP for years to come. They are clearly not interested in building a huge multiplayer/PvP fan base. Only fan base of the open world they created.

It’s a two way street; if the community is being hugely cynical, cursing them, this will not have the desired effect.
And lets face it, we dont know that much yet about PvP, and we haven't played to single player.

    Lets just see and wait.
Sure we should be critical, we play 50-60 bucks for it, so we should be. But lets not repeat the FC3 scenario.

    * I know I wont be loved for this opinion but think other sound is also good on this forum.

You're allowed your opinion, sure. The hole in your argument is that you're insisting that WE shouldn't have an opinion. Simply saying " You all know Ubi is gonna screw the multiplayer community, so why complain about it!" Doesn't do anything to solve the problem.

    Silence is acceptance.

If we continue to just roll over and let UBI mistreat the people that helped the Far Cry franchise to be successful in the first place, and not be vocal about Ubi not caring about us... Then we deserve the mistreatment we get.

Truth be told, the are MANY folks who buy the Far Cry games JUST for the IGE and its multiplayer. Sure the campaign is cool, but there are a lot of people that spend days and even WEEKS passionately making maps. And for Ubi to turn their back on them, and not acknowledge them.. It's uust wrong.

If they mess this game up.... I'll never buy another Ubisoft game again. I'll probably not even purchase this one. Depends on if the editor is good enough. No multiplayer function in the IGE means no purchase from me.

Ubisoft & Far Cry have probably THE [EDITED] and whiniest fanbase of anything to ever exist. Seriously, every single time they don't get the exact answer they wanted to hear from one of their questions, they overreact and assume that Ubisoft is neglecting them and that clearly anything that isn't a downright yes=no.

Granted, yes, I do wish Ubisoft would be more open about some of the things (ala the editor), but considering how some of these people are I'm not sure I'd want to respond were I the one being asked. I mean, the map editor has been a staple of the Far Cry series since game #1, and every single time we've been able to publish multiplayer maps. Why the **** would all of the sudden we not be able to do that?

Your whole post contradicts itself. First you attack the posters here for simply wanting more information about what they're purchasing, and then you do JUST THAT in the second half of your post. On the subject of "Silence = confirmation", you have to remember who we're dealing with here. Ubisoft has a history of this kind of activity. One example of this behavior is Splinter Cell: Conviction. They were quiet about that game's multiplayer until close to launch, and then suddenly when the uproar became too much, we get a LOOSE confirmation that they simply removed Spies Vs Mercs multiplayer "because it was too difficult for new players to get into.".

Far Cry 3 was kinda the same way. After Far Cry 2's successful map making/sharing component was a hit among the map making community, it was natural to assume the would continue that trend, and mentioned NOTHING about how sharing would be changed or how it would work. Turns out sharing was DOA, and the game died almost instantly.

THESE REASONS, are why folks are being so vocal, and angry that ubisoft continues to be silent. It really is mistreatment IMO when you are purposefully quiet about features, while still wanting us to purchase the game.

You may not care about your rights as a consumer, but I, as well as many others do. You should care about what you buy, and have FULL expectations about what you're giving your money to.

You wouldn't buy a car without knowing what's under the hood, would you?

I have been a long time Ubisoft community member (Since Splinter Cell: Double Agent). And Ubisoft has always been like this. There is a reason that games like Call Of Duty And Battlefield make BILLIONS. They listen to their fans. They have a dialogue with them. And COD and BF players are the WORST kind of people. If only Ubisoft had a dialogue with us more level-headed fans.

Legacy, I'm just gonna let you do all the talking from now on lol :P I don't know how you remain so calm while having to repeat the same lines over and over.

Oh, I'm boiling right now LOL.

But I'm mostly against ragey posts that aren't constructive and objective. Also, being a long time NeoGAF poster helps with that, too. You act a fool over there, and your account gets nuked REAL quick-like LOL.

We have to remember that HUMANS are reading these posts. And at the end of the day, they have an easier time reading one that is constructive, fact-based, and objective. Just look at some of the Community Managers for Call of Duty. Remember FourZeroTwo from the COD4/MW2/MW3 days? David Vaanderhaar from Treyarch? They get some much unecessary hate and vitriol. It's concerning, and breaks people.

    I'm not here for that.

I just want Ubisoft to have a dialogue with us. I'm willing to put my paycheck on the idea that they will sell WAY more games if they would just open up to the community, speak with us, interact with is, and listen to our feedback. To CARE. Right now I just feel like they're after my money, and not in a way that excites me.

Another thing that confuses me is just how much negativity they generate to the public, and that they've done nothing to fix it, or turn it around.

The problem is that the average gamer doesn't see that Ubi is mistreating fans. I understand why new comers to the series think of us as whiney. They don't know what we've been through. That's why we need rational people like you Legacy :P

    You're reverting things.

If Ubisoft is a poop company, this is not our fault, this is not the community's fault.
If they make a bad multiplayer, don't support it after release, don't communicate enough with its community, this is not our fault.

They "get hate" for a reason. They didn't give up on FC3 because people were complaining. That's BS.
They just gave up by themselves because they didn't plan to support the game, its player base and its community. No wonder people are complaining !

Same goes with the multiplayer. If barely any people were playing the MP, it's because it was poop (poop to not say sh*tt*) in the first place.
If it was properly made, accessible (and its custom content easily accessible / playable), more people would be interested in playing it. But seeing how badly it was made, it's no surprise people skipped it.
