I don't think they removed MP from the map editor. That would be a really stupid move and I don't think Ubisoft is that stupid. They probably just added vehicles and/or AI to MP portion of the editor and made all those things mentioned in the interview for SP part of the editor.

    Dont hold your breath? LOL

Ubi has done nothing to confirm these things. And it sounds like they wont be.

I think it is pretty obvious what the IGE consists of. They have covered it rather well with the this article and the PC Gamer article. It will NOT be possible to create custom MP maps. This article almost
comes of like they are justifying the lack of MP IGE..

"a lot of people were using it not necessarily to build multiplayer maps" . The only custom maps I played were multiplayer. Except maybe the escape maps. But in my personal opinion, playing escape maps were only fun with my friends. And nothing was more satisfying than spending days on a map.. Hosting it.. Filling it full of players... Hearing everyone having a blast with something you created. I will still play SP like millions others will. I will check out the IGE, make a couple map.. er wait, missions. See if it appeals to me. Im not closed minded, I will just always miss the good old days.

The money is in SP. They hear our pleads, but it's not personal. It's business.

So they should have realized that setting such restrictions also limits the interest of people to build maps. So they themselves are the cause of it, and now that they have probably cut out the MP from the editor it will probably lead to even less people interested to build maps. So is their next clue for FC5 in two years time to remove the editor completely because hardly anybody were building maps? NO! Ubisoft themselves is destroying the map building community with all of their stupid restrictions. But they won't admit that of course. Because they are good at staying silent. Too chicken to deal with things the right way or admit their failure (again) in trying to do so.
Yes, it was Juliens task to bring us an improved map editor - And he successfully did so.

    Restrictions? Name one.
If you're talking about FC3, I had zero issues with the editor. It was better than ever in FC3. The issue lies with the multiplayer in my opinion.

If they did remove the editor for a hypothetical future game, I would be pissed too, but I'm not completely lost. It would be an understandable decision. I'm sure there were people who absolutely adored the jungle trees in FC3 and are mad they didn't bring back those for FC4, but just because people like different aspect of your game doesn't mean you have to stop making changes and innovate.

Obviously they have to do what the majority is asking for, they can't satisfy everyone all the time. I'm not saying Ubisoft is perfect, sure there are things that can be done differently, but removing the editor wouldn't necesserarily be a dumb move considering how much time people spend in the singleplayer in comparison, even though I and many others would think it sucked. We're just not that vast of a community, but at the same time we should be heard, and we have been although they could do a better job at responding =)

I want there to be custom maps for multiplayer, just like everyone else and more than most. I'm just not going to go out of my way to say anything else would be wrong or a stupid decision when it wouldn't have to be.

    Lies. Remember ?
NO VEHICULES ! Very low grid limit. No ammo box. No placeable weapons. No AI allowed. Removing most of the explosive objects for mysterious reasons (all of that with the first patch). Stupid spawn points and spawn system. Lack of destructible objects.
And certainly some others I forgot right now.

Sorry but you're being too kind with them.
You're not helping us (the community), you're not helping Far Cry to keep his Map Editor, and you're not helping yourself at the moment.

It wouldn't be surprising if Ubisoft choose to restrict the new map editor to making SP / Coop only maps and not multiplayer.
Not surprising because this is not the first time they take / make stupid decisions. FC3 should be the best proof of that, for you too.
