Funktastic makes a post about how he has trouble with English and getting his point across. Funktastic is then replied to in a way that mocks the very things he was talking about. Even though he and I seem to disagree about a few things, you would think that some of the "old guard" forum users would embrace a newer player who is obviously passionate about the game and learning how to use the editor while trying to fight for exposure for what amounts to the next generation of track builders...

But no. Maybe we should all just mock him with sarcastic responses until he leaves. Why would we EVER want new people to join the community? How could we possibly stand to let someone who is so open and community-driven make a long post without crapping all over it? I have a great idea! Let's just lock the forum so no new people can join OR EVEN VIEW THEM!

If you can't tell, that was sarcasm. I am pretty disappointed by the reactions to that post. While I understand that "keep it short" was a goal that Funk failed at, he had obviously spent quite a bit of time trying to be more clear, and that was a good enough reason for me to read it. We won't always agree, but that doesn't mean we need to try to tear each other down.

@Funk, you are right. There is no real incentive for newer builders to keep building. There are thousands of people who make tracks and not all of them are likely to have their creations made cross platform. Trials games are as much about user content as they are about anything else, so this is definitely something to think about. I may have gotten stuck on the whole "there is no way to have Uplay Recommended feature new builder content that isn't pretty awesome". I should probably get over that and start looking at ways that we could help encourage new builders. Keep posting. If people don't like it... Tough.

@Everyone - I'm sure most of us have had posts go awry. I KNOW that I have. I also know that while I may not agree with some of the people in this thread, you are smart enough to stay away from the old standby remarks. You can all get your points across, and I wish I had seen some of that instead of what was posted. We have someone who wants to make better tracks, is giving ideas on how he thinks things could be better, has tried to start a monthly build off... And instead of being embraced as someone who obviously belongs... He's made fun of.

The only person I've seen who seems to have had a real conversation with Funk is VEGAS TRASH. That's not what I would have expected. Well done, Trashman.

Thank you for the reply and i know i have just deleted a few posts thats because i didnt really get across what i wanted and i got alittle frustrated with some people response so they were efforts to get abit of dignity back but were not want i really wanted to say . I appreciate your decent response and i thank you for that dudel. Im not going to stop building i love it and the responses only fuel me to do better like i always have. Again i know i was trying to keep the last post short like i intend to now but somehow it didnt work. So rather than continue i will stop here but just wish to thank you for your response. also vagastrash has been a decent guy to be honest in this thread and others which i am thankful for.

I know we dont see eye to eye much but thats not always a bad thing because then different things are opened up and other sides loooked at. Im not going to stop posting but like i mentioned will try even more to make my point clearer. I have actually saved some expression in works to use which should help towards this.

I will stop now before it carrys on but again cheers dude thats on a proffesional note as your a dev and also just for being a decent guy.

I will add that there is quite a few that have been very helpful and decent so its still a good place to be. Also cool about looking for different ways to help new builders. that sounds fantastic

I agree with Shifty. Funk clearly is passionate about the game, his problem to get points across fluently shouldn't be the thing to focus on and trolled at. And his protest for motivating new builders was pretty good, altough he probably worded it wrong with saying newer builders should get crossplatformed too, wich came over more as "lowering quality of crossplatformed tracks". I appreciate the idea he actually wants to make TC more interesting for newer builders. I have no idea actually how to tackle the problem, but I'm sure as a community we can give RL some interesting ideas!?

    thank you bassline much appreciate

For me this games progression on ps4 is mainly supported by completely new players to this franchise and with it being one that mainly works because people build tracks then i just think that it should represent this somewhere with in the track central your in and not only show what you might get if you stick around playing for a year or 2. Its hard for any gamer to think that to have any source of feedback for thier gameplay then they have to be playing for around a year or 2 or however long it my take to become a great builder. thats why i ask for a place for new builders to get this in tc somehow

My idea has never been to reduce the quality of any feed but more to enhance players motivation and play ablity factor within Tc which is then to enhance the feeds. The more people who want to build the better these feeds are going to get. At the moment its split up into a few divisions and one of those is actual serious builders who want to get better at building which are the ones that are most likely looked at for the recommended feed but these builders like my self have a long way to go and we know this but knowing that your track is going to vanish everytime well say bar week is off putting. Building track after track for them just to disappear in the engine of tc does nothing to encourage builders to keep building all i was saying was there should be a middle place. If i didnt come in here and also particapte in this side of the game i would most likely have given up building. This is why my posts have surrounded the recommended and featured feed because it for me and other builders only shows that unless your a top quality builder than your tracks are just going to continue to dissapear and never to be seen again. Of course quality is the source of top places thats understood but its shown that actually 6 tracks could be cross fed. All i say is that it would do tc alot of good if at least one of these was an upcoming builder that is being recommended by redlynx to watch out for. Are people really going to miss one track ? it only use to produce 5 anyway.

The actual effect that this would have on peoples attention to keep builder or to start would be amence compared to them who would miss one track and even then if they understood that its like the bonus track of the week then im sure it would actually be liked

The game wants people to continue building but with the structure at the minute which is , " continue learning for 2 years until you get better and then your tracks might not just vanish after weeks of making them " with this format i think its not going to gain many more builders to join the new generation on the new platforms.Xbox and pc already have been playing this game so have an advantage over ps4 and its track central. I am lucky if i get 300 downloads of my tracks and that not because of the quality. I understand that the first game people had to learn and so forth but thats a different time different platform. Because now there is these options to have multiple reward schemes i just think that one of these should be amied towards motivating new builders and helping them staying active and enjoy what we like doing. Im not sure about anyone else but i like to see or know of upcoming people in things like this , its good for everything to see a glimpse of future things to come for me i cant see why it would be a problem why redlynx cant be a voice for these people also.

thats what i am trying to get across but there is also different ways that this could be put t in place within tc , Maybe a track doesnt have to be crossplatformed but just a sample video of what new things are happening recomended builder to watch out for on this. Hopefully i have explained my self alot better and more clearer. Also dont need a reply shifty what ya said already was fine , just was trying to clear things up abit maybe get some better feedback

tried not to make it too long but had to be of some length to say what i was lol

I have an idea that might resolve Funks original point (which seems to have been lost - in translation and seas of ridicule)....why not have an "Up And Coming" section in Track Central......Simples.....I thank you

Shifty: The only person I've seen who seems to have had a real conversation with Funk is VEGAS TRASH. That's not what I would have expected. Well done, Trashman.

I invited him to a chat regarding some feedback. We ended up doing a decent Twitch feed for 4 hours or so. You're now able to broadcast the party chat, so it makes using a mic a bit more friendly.
He's a decent guy and old like me.
We ran through some tracks and I gave my 2 cents...something I'm decent at, as I'm never short on opinions. I thought his last build was an improvement regarding the things pointed out. Consider he's building for just 6 months or so.
During the Twitch, Trials actually felt like a community again, rather than a knocking of heads....as it can be on the forums from time to time.
In the end, we all love playing Trials. Sometimes everyone is so passionate about their views, we lose site it's just a game we all enjoy.

If you want more of that I dearly encourage you to join the "Trials Fusion Streaming Network" (ive just made that up).
There are several regular Trials Fusion streamers where alot of regular People join in to Chat and we always have a lot of fun and it really is a community.
of the top of my head, follow These guys: swelx, dannyoost, saudipro, jeruhnq, dolcefelice.
Theres a stream by one of the guys every day. ist really fun and People get to know each other.

    major scam -

Yes the point did seem to get lost along the way , proberbly the way i had explained things didnt help but i think maybe one day we will see things for come forward and help new builders want to build more. i have heard that there is alot more better tracks and stuff on the xbox where builders actually create proper trials tracks with a good decor and driveline to match. Not alot of that going on in the ps4 tc hopefully things can be implemented to change that and also it is a new game to the ps4 so it needs some encouragements

    Vagastrash -

The twitch was great fun , something i havent done before with this game and was fun just chilling and chatting and taking tips and yeah it did feel like being part of something plus got to see vagas fail on a few tracks haha. Agreed things in the forum can seem so passionate at times that we can loose site of the actual reason we are all in here and thats to have fun. Different opinions and styles of presentation can also give room to alot of troubles in here and lose the main focus. Does show that even though people have strong opinions and disagreements us trials players keep on trailing. Good to see you creating again vagas , although i couldnt do it and just ended up with my backside in my face at the end , it was a good challange and one i will do , maybe by luck or by pull my face along the finish line hahah

    Steiner 84

think i saw the groups of trials twitches on the dashboard ( whats new ) maybe thats not the one , might catch one if so sometime although i did notice alot was in different languages so i wouldnt understand. but will check them out one time when i can.
