Why TIMED co-op fortress take overs??

Why make them timed, that just sounds stupid. Fortresses are going to be the hardest places to over run.

They are not timed. The reinforcements bar on the top of the screen is how long until the reinforcements show up. Same as FC3. These guys talking had limited time to play in the event.

I think that the there is an option to compete with people on our friends lists to see who can get the quickest time (but I might be wrong)

Sure somewhere that it was said there is an option to do a Fortress Takeover as a mission which records our quickest time for others to view, we will have to wait and see if no one else chips in to say how it works.

So in Single Player, we have to just 'try and sneak past' past these Fortress' then?

No,why? You can still try to take alone. It will probably be *****ing hard and challenging but you can take it by yourself.I'm a bit dissapointed that here are only 4 of them.Guess fortresses are super hard then.

I read that the fortresses are like super well fortified mega-outposts. Each fortress is run by one of Pagan Min's lieutenants, and once you take over a fortress, only then do they stop trying to re-take the outposts in that area. So for me, who actively stopped taking over all the outposts in FC3 to keep the world slightly hostile, I would specifically take the outposts that gave out the rare animal hunting quests so I could craft all my gear but still have alot of hostiles patrolling the map... Now I'll just avoid taking over the fortress and have battles with retaliation parties and defend outposts from takeovers!!!

If that's so I would like that they add an option that enemies try to re-take outposts even if we take over a fortress because this is a little stupid.

How come? If you want outposts to come under attack simply do not take over the fortress in that region. Also though, there is another new feature in the outposts called "outpost master" or something, where you can replay the outpost once you've cleared it and try to beat it with a high score (pretty sure you get points based on speed and no detection// alarms & such) There is still an option to reset all outposts as well, although much like the update to 3 I'm guessing you have to have liberated all of them before you can do that and i don't know if it will reset the fortresses as well.....

Because I would like to try to take fortresses by myself.See how hard they really are.I know that FC3 got that option via update so I hope that this time they put it form the start.

Yeah, the outpost reset option is there right away this time, saw a youtube vid that showed it in some of the options menus.

I'll probably take over 1 or 2 of the fortresses but leave 2 so that the retaliation parties still show up once in a while to those regions of the map...
