I have no hope for the multiplayer as it is, do you?

The multiplayer looks jacked. 5v5 and no TDM or any of the other classic modes we have associated with Far Cry. I've posted about this before in various threads but I don't think the multiplayer has been very well planned for the crowd its being marketed to, especially after the loadout system and removal of predator mode in FC2, and then EVERYTHING about FC3's multiplayer, you think Ubi would learn what the dedicated crowd wants.

This is not to say multiplayer doesn't look cool, we just want our classic modes as well, not to the disclusion of what is already in place.

Player count is abysmal, I can understand that lower player populations for certain game modes is ideal, but how did they think that 5v5 (10 players) would be a good idea after the backlash last time around with 7v7?

I was honestly hoping for a maximum player count closer to 20 or 24 because in my opinion Far Cry is about the large open world, Its undeniable. The games sole purpose in being made was so that Crytek could show off their fancy new Cryengine. I would expect a game like that to embrace its history in large scale open worlds and do everything they can to bring large scale combat to multiplayer. Not like Battlefield, neither faction in Kyrat or any other Far Cry game for that matter has the money/resources to obtain a plethora of tanks and jets and humvee's, but they still have the boots-on-the-ground infantry to battle in out in a LARGE environment. In a LARGE map, 5v5 is sloooow and soon turns into a slow grinding game of hide and seek.

We should have the capacity in Far Cry at this point (considering most games since 2006 have at LEAST 8v8) for 10v10-12v12 lobbies if we so choose.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

*EDIT* And if they didn't wait until two weeks from launch to announce the multiplayer, they would have maybe had some time to analyze feedback like this and actually do something about it, but nooo, that's not how ubisoft operates now is it. They should have diverted focus from the singleplayer and more on the multiplayer while campaigning the game. I trust the FC team completely to construct an amazing SP experience, I even know the map editor is probably going to be sick, it always is. Its the multiplayer I was worried about, and for good reason too.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know some of what is above is recycled, but I dint feel the need to restate what I have already adequately said somewhere else.

Now, what I wan't is for this thread to become a place to outline our misgivings with constructive criticism (if you can manage it) and ideas/suggestions on how to remedy the issues we have with the game. We write it all out here, and pretend the community managers and Ubisoft are even paying attention.

I don't think it is necessary to create another thread about it all. Everybody has already said what they wanted to say about it and it has no use to say it all again or how they can/should improve. Just accept it and accept the fact they maybe did not listen or did not care what you had to say..

Im trying to create a thread where were talking about how to improve it, not just complaining about it.

Honestly- it'd be REALLY simple to incorporate symmetrical play into the existing gamemodes. You simply remove the special abilities of the Rakshasa and give them normal gun loadouts. Heck, that's as simple as adding a server option...

Is that too much for Ubisoft to do?

I respect what you're trying to do but its a waste of effort. Not only has everything been said a thousand times since they announced it but we've been here before with FC2 and 3. There's absolutely no reason to believe Ubisoft listens to player feedback. We've voiced our opinions nearly unanimously a thousand times and have not once been listened to.

Its a fair and reasonable topic from the OP.

TDM and DM is "normal" or a staple for any games MP.

Its great to see innovation in the games industry and Ubi are not shy or fearful of trying new things - even if they fall flat on their face.

I actually agree with the OP that seriously - you simply cannot drop TDM. And it must be the simplest game mode to code for. So I have no idea why it has been omitted if it really has been omitted. Its almost negligent in respect of the fans to leave it out of the game. But we get what we are given... beggars can't be choosers. All we can do is point out the obvious. And then get the opposite in return for voicing our opinions.

Oh no... we're customers not beggars and as such we can and WILL be choosers. We'll choose with our wallets.

I don't wanna have to say it but you are a clown. The OP knows what he is talking about and the info just became know buddy. Sorry I don't want to get the thread locked but I just cancelled because it's not what I am looking for. It sounds fun but I too want 10 vs 10 or more tdm, conquest and other modes with just guns, no killstreaks and no magic and teleporting, sounds very stupid if those are the only modes. A car vs elephant head on collision sounds fun but knowing game developers the elephant will probably win everytime which would be insanely stupid. I am upset because I wanted this game but mainly for comp multiplayer and it just isn't going to fit the bill for me.

I'm totally confused as to why you think I'm a "clown". I totally agree with you that the MP for this game looks like trash. The TC even admitted that what he wrote has already been voiced in many other topics. On top of that we already have an official topic for MP feedback. Are you referring to something else? I try not to be a **** no matter how pissed I am at Ubi so I'm am curious as to why you think my post is out of line.
