    Featured Builders: November

It’s November. Halloween has passed, the temperature is dropping, and the best way to keep warm is to stay inside and play some amazing Trials creations. The best way to do that is to head over to the Featured section on your platform of choice and fire up your bike.

This time we tried to get some more information in the form of mini-interviews with the Featured Builders. Due to illness the questions went out late and not all Featured Builders were left with enough time to respond.

Without delay, here are your Featured Builders for the month of November:

    Name: TeriXeri

    Platform: PC

First Trials Game: Trials Evolution Gold Edition (started April 2013), never had a X360.

What track that you have built is your favorite?

    Trials Evo Gold:
Red Sands Gold Mine (Video) was a lot of fun to create a Wild West theme, Evo Gold has no desert map so it Involved a lot of landscaping and making a lot of custom style objects and multiple enviroments, indoor and outdoor places was a challenge to make it fit together. It also was my first shot at an Extreme track.

    Trials Fusion:
I really enjoyed Mesoamerica (Video) for Fusion, it was my first track with a large backdrop, and the trees / vegetation really made me feel like shaping a jungle in a way I could not in Evo Gold. As a bonus, it got played on a big screen on RTX , so seeing a video on that was amazing.

What about a track by another community member?

I don't really have a single most favorite track as there are so many being made all the time, but there are some PC builders who make amazing content:
ConfusedMuscles, kalianhagle, bassline001, Zurgery, maxixi, xXRajadoXx & others.

How would you describe your building philosophy or style?

I try to think up a visual theme or goal, often working from a picture or video for inspiration, and then work from there, always tweaking things like camera/enviroment settings to get a different look.
And then work forward sometimes the idea completely turns out different then the initial plan but that's the fun of being creative.
My strong point is definately decoration/details but I'm still learning new things each track.

What makes a custom track really stand out for you?

The less the baseworld is recognizable, the better.
The further away from the standard settings/colors, using objects in new ways for deco and driveline, tiny details or large custom backgrounds.
Of course a good line matters a lot as well, most importantly : true to difficulty obstacles, and allowing the right bikes.

What advice do you have for people new to custom track creation?

1st step is to not think you can't make a good track, even when it takes a few tries to get better at it.
Watch tutorials & the editor stream, ask people for advice on the forum.
Try to make a track complete, not just some floating objects in the air or baseworld, always try to add a simple yet effective background/theme to it.
Do a lot of testing performance and track flow, especially when allowing multiple bikes make sure they can finish it.

    Final note:
When I started building I had been watching a lot of Trials Evo(including xbox) videos with commentary (TETS/Will it Donkey), and that got me into building in the first place.

    Name: SYN65

    Platform: Xbox 360

The track building team of SYN65 has been around seemingly forever, and for good reason; they make damn fine tracks. They seem to have stuck to the Xbox 360, and I’m sure that none of the players there will be complaining. A Syn65 tracks is more than meets the eye. With a love of easter eggs goes back to at least Trials HD their tracks are chocked full of hidden secrets & challenges. If you are rocking out on a 360, make sure to fire up the Featured Feed and check out some good tracks.

    Name: Monstified a.k.a. Logan

    Platform: Xbox One

What was the first Trials game you played?

The first Trials Game I played is Trials HD.

What track that you have built is your favorite?

My favorite custom track that I have made is Polar Facility. I think it is my best track because of the Simple yet technical driving line, which requires small techniques in order to improve your time.

What about a track by another community member?

My favorite custom track made by another user is very tough to choose but I would have to say it is -ECHO DISTRICT- by AONESx835, because of the very unique driving line and the custom structures he created for his map. The track is not like any other I've seen on track central.

How would you describe your building philosophy or style?

I build my tracks in a way where I try to please people with the background, but make sure there is nothing lacking on the driving line, and there needs to be just enough technicalities for the player to want to come back and improve their time by hitting the tiniest time savers throughout the track.

What makes a custom track really stand out for you?

A custom track really stands out to me when the builder is able to make the driving line match the theme of the track. When a driving line is made up of the same pieces throughout and doesn't really blend in well, it kind of turns me away from the track, because it seems like the builder wasn't willing to put as much effort into the track as they could have.

What advice do you have for people new to custom track creation?

My advice to new builders is to spend more time on the driving line. I see a lot of tracks with inconsistent difficulties throughout and this can be frustrating for a rider, especially when the track flows so well and then the player is forced to stop and try to prepare themselves for the next obstacle.

    Name: KALzzone8 a.k.a. Kalle

    Platform: Playstation 4

    First Trials Game:

    Trials HD.

What track that you have built is your favorite?

There’s always some part(s) I hate on my tracks, but if I have to pick one, maybe Prehistoric Trials [K8]. I’m happy with the dinosaur animations and the overall look of it.

What about a track by another community member?

I’ve seen some amazing looking videos from Xbox One Track Central, but since I play on PS4, I can’t pick a track I haven’t played myself. I also can’t pick just one track to highlight, so I mention some of my favorite builders from PS4. My favorite tracks recently have come from HES92, VEGASTRASH01 and FG-312. They are all great builders; I always wait for their new tracks.

How would you describe your building philosophy or style?

I’ll try to build unique looking tracks. I tend to find inspiration from movies, other games or just from pictures.

What makes a custom track really stand out for you?

My favorite tracks are those that look in some way unique. It’s always nice to see people creating some of these completely new objects and ideas. Even though decoration is the thing for me, the track always needs decent drive line.

What advice do you have for people new to custom track creation?

Try to build tracks that are fun to ride. Try to replace object in driving line and see how it turns out. When you think you nailed it, create some unique decoration. Also play around with environmental settings and camera filters; they make your tracks come alive.

And there you have it. 4 more top rate builders, one for each platform, to sink your Trials fingers into for the month of November. Can we get a round of congratulations for these awesome builders?

Who will be here next month? We’re not telling just yet, but let us know who YOU would select!

    -Shifty

I feel honored to have made it in this list, thanks so much, did not expect this.

Might as well fill the list of questions:

Was an interesting read looking at the answers to some of the questions, I agree with pretty much all of them. Congrats to all the builders that have been given featured builders of the month so far, well deserved.
