Had a random thought while trying to find someone who understands Polish... if the literal translation doesn't make sense in English because of the words the translator links in the dictionary, maybe he didn't go directly to Polish from English.

The Polish speakers here have said that the audio phrase doesn't make sense in Polish. What we've been taking that to mean is that the audio is a litteral translation of english words typed into the translator. If the english words were in a mixed up order as well (or combination of multiple phrases, etc), then the translator would produce gibberish in Polish words.

Yeah, I agree that the reverse polish reference is a bit too much of a coincidence to not be relevant, although I haven't figured out exactly what to do with it. In RPN, the operator (+, -, x) follows the numerical entries. Maybe in the translation the verbs follow the nouns or something?

Another problem is that we don't really seem to have 100% agreement that we know exactly which Polish words we're dealing with. I tried playing the reversed MP3 file back into the speech recognition in Google Translate, but it couldn't even recognize most of what was being played back.

I can hear at least a couple of inconsistencies between the file and the transcription. In the mp3, there is another syllable or word after chmury and the last word seems to end in an 'r' sound.

Because they're in Reverse Polish Notation, I suppose? So maybe moving/reversing some of the Polish words before putting them through the translator? Still seems like we'd get the same english words, or very close to them.
