    Weapon checking animations?

I was just playing the new Shadow Warrior and the developers have added a really nice touch, when you press the reload button on an already fully loaded weapon, rather than just nothing happening, which is the case in most FPS games, an animation plays instead, either checking the magazine or in the case of this game, wiping the sword clean of blood..

It's a really nice touch and one i wish a lot more FPS games would include.

I'm guessing that as no previous FC titles have featured this, then FC4 will be no different.

*It also runs at 1080p @ 60fps UBI..

Huh, that is cool. I mentioned in another thread that I wish more FPS games would do new things with the weapons, and I didn't even think of something like that. I remember that game BLACK that came out right at the end of the original xbox's life cycle, it had 2 reload animations for every weapon, one for when you were "safe" and one for while you were under-fire. The safe animations were obviously a bit longer and more deliberate, with more of a focus on the actual chambering of the round, but the ones when you were under fire were alot faster.

    I like it.

I also wish that fps games would make the damage from rifle more logical. How is it that a 556 rifle does the same or more damage than a 762? .762 nato rifles like G3, FAL, SCAR H, AR-10 etc should do much more damage than an m-16, SIG-552,FAMAS, AUG etc. Its still balanced because they kick more and are much more difficult to shoot full auto.

    just sayin

Honestly I don't even know why they put the stats on guns within the same class because typically they feel similar enough that the differences are practically trivial. The real difference in damage in these games is pretty much between SMGs, ARs, LMGs etc. Really though, with how lethal the weapons are in the game already, the minutiae of weapon caliber effecting damage would be pretty unnecessary I think. With the exception of the heavies, it seems like enemies die in 3-4 bullets regardless of weapon class/ caliber/ type. Speaking of weapon classes, I can't believe it looks like they didn't add any new ARs in this game. Woulda been nice to see something new in the weapon class I tend to use most, like a G36c or SCAR...

FC2 have tons of weapon idle animations. And I loved them. Too bad, no other Far Cry have this. So I didn´t expect them in Far Cry 4

Games developed out of passion, where there is room for something that isn't only meant to add to the company's bank account, were gone for good the moment game development became a major industry (A few exceptional cases do exist, though, but expecting this from something estimated to sell 6 million copies during its first year isn't really likely to happen).

I can't believe how lazy the developers are, using the same arsenel from FC3!

I have just read an article regarding GTA5's new first person mode..the amount of work those guys over at Rockstar have put in to bring that into a first person perspective is insane!

The amount or re-used assets in FC4 is for sure my biggest gripe, both weapons and animation. I think the animation thing bothers me more-so, because it just doesn't make sense to have a different character perform even similar actions in the exact same way, but the lack of new weapons is a bummer as well, I don't think there is even a new assault rifle! I have only seen the trailer for GTA V's new FP mode, but it did look impressive and like a lot of work had gone into it, it's actually making me consider double-dipping on that game (something i wasn't planning on doing.) I can't wait to see what they're doing with the next Red Dead game. If it had a FP mode as well, holy $#!+, that'd be insane...

Totally agree, it makes no sense whatsoever..and why is Hurk in the game too?

Regarding the new GTA5, Rockstar said in an interview that they created around 3000 new animations! Weapon models, reloads, interiors of buildings and vehicles..every vehicle even had it's own unique interior!

That's the kind of attention to detail that so many games are missing these days.

I never played GTA5 first time around so i'll definitely be picking up the new enhanced version.

I want to love FC4 but UBI insist on making it hard..

I guess I'm in the minority of not hating Hurk, I think he's kinda funny, but I like idiot characters like that. I played GTA V to death, so haven't had much interest in double dipping on the new gen version, but after seeing that trailer and reading up on it since then, I gotta say, I'm tempted... Guess maybe I'll see how much credit I can get on my 360 version and maybe a few other old games I've got and get it on the cheap...
