Ubisoft Expects Far Cry 4 To Sell 6 Million In First Year

Speaking on the company’s second quarter FY15 earnings call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot set expectations for two of the publisher’s upcoming titles. Ubisoft has a full lineup for the coming quarter, with strong sales expected from Far Cry 4 and The Crew.

Far Cry 3 has sold 10 million units to date, with 6 million coming in the game’s first year. Ubisoft anticipates that Far Cry 4 will at least match the last title’s first year performance.
Looking to The Crew, Ubisoft anticipates that the new series will move 2 million units in its first 12 months. Far Cry 4 will be out on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC on November 18. The Crew is out on December 2 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PC.

FC3 was so broken and never fixed I doubt very many people have any hope in the franchise now...

Heck even GTA5 is upping the player counts for XBOX1,PS4 to 30 players per lobby. 5vs5 will be lame in a peer to peer match making. Most likely the lobbies fill up so quick that a group of 5 friends will be broke off into separate lobbies. Far Cry 3 was like that for a while.
With regard to player count per lobby, you may also end up being disappointed with RS Siege.

Regrettably after FC3 this is a SP only franchise and that's how the bulk of the player base views it. I think FC4 will quite easily sell 6 mill in a year. Ever since paid map packs became all the rage Ubisoft has wanted us map makers out and they've succeeded in killing us off.
