“When I look back at Far Cry 4’s development, I’m amazed at what the team pulled off,” says Executive Producer Dan Hay. “We added verticality. We gave the player the ability to fly. We gave them the ability to fly in co-op. We gave them the ability to fly and have the other player down on the ground running around while they’re flying. We made the number of encounters way higher. The encounters are different, and the animals are different. The characters are unique, and your friends will have subtly different experiences with the story. I’m proud of both the quality and the sheer volume in Far Cry 4.”

Yeah, programming a new vehicle class takes so much time- especially when you have the dynamics ready given you had AI only controllable helicopters in already.

Yeah, the encounter system was there in FC3 already and seems largely unchanged. The encounters, obviously are different- not by much. Still, just cars filled with bad or good guys- nothing more interesting than that. Maybe local soldiers getting drunk and firing at the sky like back in FC3?
Honestly, I think the only truly new "feature" (not even a feature.) is the new storyline and environment. Nothing else seems different from its predecessor- the underdeveloped and oversimplified crafting system is there (And I hated that thing, that's just not what Far Cry is about in my opinion... It's not about making imaginary wallets and equipment from chunks of different animal species' flesh. If the thing posed a HUGE challenge to maximize and get a little boost from, then it'd be fine... But really, kill two animals and you can carry a new weapon...), it's funny how they say it's not Far Cry 3.5 (Well, they're right, it's FC3 with a new skin- more like a DLC. Think Battlefield 3 and 4 here.), and they start working on a new game BEFORE they have even fixed the last one. And what happened? They never fixed it. It's the same story with every Ubisoft title nowadays.
Please, base FC5 on FC2 instead of the mainstream FC3 that only sold well because it was hyped with deception and lies... I was hoping to work at Ubisoft some day until FC3 came out, now confirmed by Watch_Dogs, that the work ethic there is laughing at the community about how freaking stupid they were when they went and bought the game because presentations were a proper, not dumbed down build with only a single purpose: to deceive.
$$$
Sorry, had to get my opinion through even if it is a bit harsh.
The answer is they just crank some SP stuff into it and don't even check if it works properly, and if they do check... They don't fix it, and claim they didn't have enough time.Originally Posted by x_maxpower Go to original post
If it's broken, you fix it before releasing it, simple as that. There should be a few international laws about deceiving advertising that we could use to our advantage in here.
My guess is this team looked at FC3 MP activity and surmised that FC players must not care much about MP, because there's hardly anyone playing it. So let's just shake it up and try something different...if it works great but no big loss otherwise because FC players are obviously there for the SP, not MP.
Sound right?
Dude they have gone gold... Just after the MP announcement.... I better shut up, I don't want to get banned.Originally Posted by GRAW2ROBZ Go to original post
If you don't seem to care for the game anymore because of 5vs5, then why are you still going round commenting on EVERY single post.Originally Posted by GRAW2ROBZ Go to original post
