Hello everyone,

As you are all aware, Far Cry 4 will be releasing very soon. Because of this, we will be enforcing a zero-tolerance spoiler policy effective immediately. We are all eagerly awaiting our chance to get our hands on Far Cry 4, so we are telling you (i.e. this is not optional) that you must follow our spoiler policy to avoid ruining the experience for your fellow players.

THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING.
This is your all capitals, red lettered, not open to negotiations warning.

1. Do NOT post anything remotely close to a spoiler in a thread title.

  • Good Title: Locations
  • Good Title: [Spoiler] Polygon/Kotaku/Eurogamer Far Cry 4 Review
  • Bad Title: I just reached the point where you find out UbiMegan's spirit animal is a sloth! HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!

2. If you wish to discuss a topic that may contain spoilers, you must put [Spoiler] in the thread title.

  • This is to alert players that if they view this thread, they may stumble across plot-related discussions.

3. Use Spoiler Tags in your posts - Even in discussions that are already marked as containing Spoilers:

Highlight your text and hit the magic button. It will cause your text...
Spoiler:  Show
... to appear like this
.

4. Do not post spoilers in threads that are not EXPLICITLY marked as a spoiler discussion.

  • Absolutely positively no exceptions. None. Nada. Zip. Nope.jpeg

THIS IS YOUR ONLY REMINDER.
This is your all capitals, red lettered, not open to negotiations reminder.

If you post a spoiler without taking the proper precautions (see above) your content will be removed without warning and your forum account will be suspend. In the event that we feel you did it purposefully (e.g. going into non-spoiler topics and posting spoilers without tags) you account will be banned - permanently. NO EXCEPTIONS.

What is a Spoiler?
A spoiler is any information not freely available from officially released Ubisoft material - so that covers user-generated screenshots, game play videos, general story details and especially covers major plot elements and the game's ending scenes. Anything that has the remote potential to ruin the experience of playing the game should be considered a spoiler.

How long is something considered a spoiler?
Until we explicitly say otherwise.

What about leaks?
Leaks are a breach of an embargo, NDA, copyright, contract, or anything that specifically states it should not be shared (this why the are referred to as leaks). This is against the Ubisoft forum policy in general, but we will be enforcing this under the full extent of our NO SPOILERS ALLOWED policy. The content will be removed without warning and your forum account may be supsended.

Bear in mind that due to different release schedules official news might be mistaken for leaks and removed as well. This is the ONLY time you should contact Forum Staff to have your content and your account restored - and you must be able to prove it came from an official Ubisoft channel.

What about 3rd Party sites?
Content from credible third party sites (any site that is not owned or operated by Ubisoft) may still be contain spoilers, especially reviews or unofficial screenshots. Topics regarding this content should be marked with a [Spoiler] tag.

When in doubt, err on the side of caution. Mark a topic as [Spoiler], and wrap your text in [Spoiler] tags.
