    Singleplayer Vs Multiplayer maps

I also posted this over at battlemap so it will be interesting to hear what people think of the SP Mission maps.
    http://www.battlemap.net/forum/map-e...ltiplayer-maps

So far cry 4 now allows us to make Single player style maps, from what was written in the PC Gameinformer magazine there are 4 choices of map which we can make.

    Assault (Kill all enemies)
    Hunt (kill all animals)
    Outpost (seize the outpost)
Extraction (get from point A to point B)

Already I have so many options in my head for different crazy things such as hiding animals and making it very hard to find them, maybe trap them inside a custom made box and make the map more about exploring / searching, so basically they will be a doddle to kill but can you find them.

Assault could maybe even be a custom made arena style map, Extraction sounds very interesting indeed and could be a vehicular type race map or even an escape type map where you have to get to the end.

Although multiplayer maps have not yet been announced surely they will allow us to build our own for whatever modes the game gives us.

My thoughts right now are that I will play a lot of multiplayer & can't wait to see what maps people produce but where map making is concerned I might actually enjoy making and playing Single Player maps a lot more.

The reason is that I can just DL them and jump in on my own, don't have to wait for others to join or for the room to be full, some maps I might just delete straight after playing where others I might find challenging and play them again.

When looking at map download figures (if they even keep a record of map stats in FC4) there will be a huge difference in how many maps are downloaded in MP and how many in SP because the SP Mission maps will be so easy for people to throw together and publish, I expect a bigger majority to play around with them.

Maybe some will see these as novelty or might feel that in time they will all be similar but I am hopeful that those who think outside the box will be able to make some quality maps and keep things fresh, I also think that the experienced map makers who spend a lot of time getting things right with how a map looks and plays - These maps should shine really well and could even get more exposure than the MP Maps.

It will be interesting to see how it all works out, I also think that if the single player mission style maps are as popular as I believe they will be then other companies might embrace this and we could possibly see some more editors eventually filter through even though they might be limited.

One thing that would have been better was if they could allow these Single player mission styled maps to be played in COOP - with a friend.
Far Cry 4 has pushed the COOP / Guns For Hire feature very well and it should be a lot of fun with 2 in the single player world but for someone to create a map and invite a friend that would equally be as good an experience if not better, shame this is not something we get.

So how do you guys think the single player v multiplayer maps will pan out if the MP mode is pretty solid that is and would you enjoy SP maps a lot more if they allowed a friend to be invited like the COOP feature with the SP game ?

I really need to see the Editor in action before I can really start to get a a firm plan of action in place. But I've already got at least 2 MP map types in mind.

So with that foundation, my main struggle now is whether Im getting the PS4 version, or PC....

i agree, first need to see whats possible and what not.....no use to plan ahead...i had some great ideas for ctf/ctd maps drawn up, for fc3...

Many people buy Far Cry for the SP..so my guess is that user generated SP maps will be popular aswell. It will be a new challange to make some good SP maps. linear maps require something else then an open word maps but we will see.

SP maps are much more difficult to create than MP maps because in SP maps you have to tell every AI exactly what to do or do scripting to make things happen you want to happen. In MP maps you only have to set spawn points and the players themselves decide what to do, where to go or who to shoot at. I prefer creating SP maps, but I will probably make some MP maps as well. Already got some great ideas for a few maps.
