hi guys.
i have a feeling this was answered but google didnt help me with this one:
FC3 had 2 maps. or should i say two islands. they were separate and equally big (though i found the second island to have very boring topography, no cover and enemies were friendly there so it was over all a LOT less fun and ruined the second part of FC3 for me).
so my question is how many maps\islands will the FC4 have? i saw trailers about the lowlands and midlands. are these two separate? how are they different from each other?
are the mountain tops a third map or are they separated completely? because the snowy mountain missions look very linear in comparison so im not completely sure what is going on....
cheers
Guy , you have not followed the latest news from a month now right?Originally Posted by topeira1980 Go to original post
However, the map of Far Cry 4 is the kyrat , one region , so it is not divided into 2 maps . It ' a single map was much more vertical than that of FC3 , so it will be even bigger and interesting to discover. The Himalayas (mountains) and the Shangri-La (A mysterious "flying" map ) are accessible only through missions
I do think the snowy mountain top levels are located in a separate level.Originally Posted by ilredeiring132 Go to original post
is what I just saidOriginally Posted by razorfinnish Go to original post
And the snow level is only through missions (Himalaya)![]()
3 COMPLETELY SEPARATE MAPS
1. - KYRAT.........The main region and this is one big MAP.
2. - HIMALAYA... can only be accessed by Teleportation/ Loading screen
3. - SHANGRI LA.....can only be accessed by Teleportation/ Loading screen
Shangri La map....is only accessible by Teleportation/ Loading screen and it is perfectly acceptable for me, this region is fictional and the player is like in a dream ...he imagine this strange place so it would NOT be realistic to walk to reach this place.....
The HIMALAYA is different....we can see it far in the Main MAP....from KYRAT....in the lowland or middle land....we can see the montain's peeks and not being able to walk....drive...or fly to reach it on the Open world main map is very frustrating. Ubisoft could at least made the transition almost invisible...like going through a caverne half way in the mountain to end up out in the peeks and in the HIMALAYA....the passage in the cavern could have be use for the transition between the 2 maps....
An open world sandbox video game should feels as immersive as possible...and loading screens kinda force us into a cold shower.....
no, i havent followed. im sorry. i didnt pay attention in class, sir. im sorry...Originally Posted by ilredeiring132 Go to original post
but thanks for the info, mateone big map is much nicer than 2 separate ones.
and since i like open ended maps than not having himalayan maps as a part of the game world is OK by me.
however the midlands and lowlands look a lot alike... i wish there was some bigger change in scenery.
aaaah. so it IS two separate maps.Originally Posted by BELLROY Go to original post
one big map means that you can cross seamlessly from one area to the other area from any point on the seam. not like there is only one point to cross, but like the entire border is cross-able.
if there are many bridges that cross the river that might be fine, but if it's just one bridge than that's a bit of a shame.
Trying to read while totally sleep deprived is never good, sorry for not reading it properly.Originally Posted by ilredeiring132 Go to original post
Who cares about the bridges....you can swim across or fly over...anywhere...!!!Originally Posted by topeira1980 Go to original post
