Hey guys i know we are all upset about the lack of mp and editor info but bee-itching and moaning is not going to achieve anything. I sit in the shadows lurking over various websites and this forum waiting for news about far cry 4 but all i see is lil kids crying. Guys leave misty alone and take a chill pill. If ubi is not confident enough about that aspect of their product then that's fine. Same thing happened with fc3 and we are all still breathing. Just wait for it to be released and make up your own conclusions about it being good or bad.
Lol, Fallen.Ninja, you're right in just about ANY other situation but not this one. A couple things 1) We're not mad a Misty. Actually many of us including myself have made it clear that we don't blame the community mods or even the development team for the lack of info. We blame upper management. 2) It seems to me that you haven't been around the Far Cry franchise since the beginning. Most of us who are complaining have been. What we see here with Far Cry 4 is the same exact thing we've seen many times in the past. And considering FC MP has gotten worse with each installment in various ways it's got us VERY nervous. Many of us have spent THOUSANDS of hours in the map editor just to abandon FC3 completely because something as simply as a lobby was done completely wrong. Us map makers have made it VERY clear over the last decade what we want and we've been largely ignored. Communication has been abysmal compared to SP and it has us very frustrated. Most of us here have done a very good job of making our frustration clear w/o getting overly personal. Us console map makers have nowhere else to go Far Cry is it. We can't choose another franchise. We want THIS one to be amazing and Ubisoft doesn't seem to care about us at all.
Nah **** that. You can't advertise a multiplayer option on the back of the FC3 case and then not have a playable multiplayer.
They were confident... "We originally had a beta planned, but we worked our schedules around so a day 1 release could work proper blah blah," yeah how well did that work out?
We cant wait for our own decisions to buy the game. Seriously. You buy a game for $60 bucks and get a return value of MAYBE $30. Videogame review sites usually gloss over the multiplayer aspect of these types of games so its really god damn hard to figure out if the game is worth buying if we only intend to play multiplayer.
I put my soul into FC3 and what did I get? First map I made was banned, thanks to people like misty.
I don't know where you live, but that's ridiculous. That return value you're talking about equals 3 drinks here. The game is probably 30-40+ hours long, only counting the single player. It's a bargain if you ask me.Originally Posted by WniO Go to original post
This is exacly what i mean. People we dont decide how the game is made or how they implement things. And yes i have played every single far cry game except for the wii version. Do i think that the lack of editor and mp info is a bad idea from ubi, yes. But that is up to them to decide how they handle things. Not us. We are consumers not investors. This i learned the hard way with fc3 after 3 months we were left to dry. No more patches or dlcs. So if ubi feels they will make more money by attracting casual gamers with the sp videos thats cool. I personally feel that they would make a hell of alot more money if they focused on the map editor and mp. Just look at creative games like minecraft, little big planet, trials. They are so popular because they let people make their own fun.
Btw i am a pc gamer
And if u want to see my last map that i am so proud of but only 5 people played.....
I have to agree with this. I'm not just going to plunk down $60 in faith that the TWO features I want to work perfectly, will do just that. And Ubi's track record with FC2 and FC3 makes this all the more worrisome. I'm one of the most objective people you'll ever meet. I'll never be inflammitory about any of the posts I make, unless the degree of mistreatment calls for it.Originally Posted by usmovers_02 Go to original post
Being burnt by FC3 as bad as I did, I'm surprised I'm not there yet. There's nothing more deflating than spending many many hours making a map, only to see it never downloaded because the lobby system crippled sharing.
See, this is where I think your line of thinking is backwards. Nobody is telling you that you have to rage at Ubisoft. But looking at that map vid you just posted, that's pretty impressive. And it's a damn shame that an awesome map like that has to go unnoticed. So I'm surprised that you yourself aren't standing up for what you are passionate about, and you are CLEARLY passionate about making maps. A map like that should have bubbled to the near top with at least 3-4 stars. But because Ubi didn't care to listen to what their fans were saying, your map got no recognition, and that's not fair if you ask me.Originally Posted by Fallen.Ninja Go to original post
We simply want Ubi to be reasonably more receptive to our requests, because we feel it'll make the game work so much better, and in turn, be more successful.
But that's the problem with Ubi. Money talks first.
While I felt the kids remarks was a but superfluous, i do tend to agree with the basic premise of his original post.
While i may be new to this forum as a poster, I have been reading the entries for years. And like others on here, i too am frustrated with FC3. Me and my group of friends (all 40yo+ gamers) have been loyal to FC since Instincts . And quite frankly, to use the SP is just something to do while we wait for the rest of the crew to log on. Its always been about the ME and MP. I say this to let you guys know that I too am invested and frustrated. And I am not sure my crew is even going to give FC4 a try based on the sucking chest wound called FC3. They are waiting on my feedback before they buy.
With all that being said, everyone is a bit touchy lately. I am quite sure the Misty said earlier in the week that we could expect some MP info on the 30th. And assuming you dont live in some geographical oddity, there is still plenty of time to decide if you are going to buy the game. In fact, for most of us (in the US anyway) we still have 2 weeks to make our decision and still get it on day one.
