    Extraction mode

This SP game mode is described as "Get from point A to point B". So is this our race mode? Escape maps?

What kind of maps can you think of that would use a start/end point? Would be great in a PvP mode too.

the Escape Maps of old back on Instincts were just floating objects that people jump across, some used terrain to create what they called V-Slides, mostly big ugly outdoor maps - Some called them obstacle course or get to the end.

Fovan with his 40 Trials and SAW Maps injected a different approach and Liam nailed it with his Real Course maps, Map Builder (the French guy) added craziness into it with Huge Toilet bowl and other insane things.

With FC2 Razor used the playable zone to good effect in making quick time areas where you had to get through a section in 10 seconds or you died, him and Liam also did some insane puzzles using the item properties.

I believe that Escape maps will Evolve again though, Ok so this what we are mentioning is get from A to B - well it could be a vehicle race but along the way there are areas with A.I. where you can't get past a barrier in the vehicle so you have to take on the A.I. to move on then use another vehicle, maybe a gyro-copter and fly through tight areas up high, do we get to use the wingsuit like it was hinted.

There are a lot of options - can these events be timed, does it keep a record on the map for who did it the fastest ?
It could be a sequence of rooms similar to a corridor style shooter with some outside areas full of A.I. where you have to get past them to complete the level.

Maybe a race track with an Arena or Fortress at the end that has to be cleared - I am sure there is so much more we could do.

Given the fact the map is still 512x512 meters ( 1/4th of a square kilometer ), the wingsuit would be completely useless unless the map is just mountains on the sides and low areas in the middle.

That all depends on how much the map creator thinks outside the box - Not talking standard map it could be that there is only one way to get into a specific area and this could mean navigating through some twisting canyon to land into a small pocket of water (made from a water layer) which would break the fall and prevent the player from dying (unless they used the parachute but there could be circumstances created where the parachute would not work if the area they had to land in was narrowed into a corridor and at a height the player could only get in using the wing-suit)

These would be novelty outside the box maps but can also be very addictive to some once they understand how they work with puzzles and stuff. But they certainly are not for everyone.

But that could be the beauty of the editor if they give us the tools and the freedom to use it how we want to.

If I set the gravity to near zero, I should be able to fly quite awhile in my wingsuit

    What I need is checkpoints

Fovan's 40 Trials, oh man that's going back! Do you remember those Predator tower maps, the ones where you would push vehicles down on the predators climbing up the giant ladder? The Jaws and Tremors maps too. If only Far Cry had stayed that way!
